Thank you for sharing! I have one already has lots of pups, looking forward to harvesting them. Wow, did you say it will produce pups again on the same spots where you have removed the pups? 👏
@SucculentSocial3 жыл бұрын
Thank you.. They are very generous, right? Oh no, not exactly on the same spot.. The SAME POT continuously give pups..😍

Wow, really enjoyed your demonstration on harvesting the echeveria elegans. Thanks for sharing. I have a question about the pots. I read that succulents should be in a clay or ceramic pot. I see your pots are all plastic and the plants are thriving! Does it really matter what type of pot they grow in?
@SucculentSocial Жыл бұрын
Hi Helen, super sorry that I got to reply only now.. We were on holiday during the Easter week period so I got to open YT only now. Anyway, with regards to the pots, ideally it would be good to have a more porous pot like terracotta or clay as the water evaporates faster, meaning you do not find your succulents drenched in water for long. Porous pots reduces risks of rot from being overwatered. Ideally. 😍 But a lot of our succulents are still in plastic pots because 1)we do not have time to repot them after buying from nurseries 2) terracotta or ceramic pots are just more expensive. I would say though that it boils down to the soil and how fast-draining they are. And the frequency of watering. And come to think of it, in big nurseries, they most grow in plastic pots, right? So I’d say, it is more about the soil and frequency of water. 😍 Hope that helps. Thanks..

Is the little bloom on this variety a star shaped pinkish red?
@SucculentSocial Жыл бұрын
Yes, they are pinkish with a hint of yellow. 😍
@miguelvaldez4735 Жыл бұрын
I'm curious, the first baby thay you removed. The one that flowered. Will it die since it flowered?
@SucculentSocial Жыл бұрын
Hi Miguel, no, it did not die. That was not a death bloom. Flowering is very common to succulents but only those monocarpic ones die (Monocarpic only flower one time in their life, then dies after giving out some offsets/babies) The death blooms usually happen in the likes of aloes, agaves and sempervivums and aeoniums to name a few, but very rare for echeverias. They also grow smack in the centre of the mother plant. Hope this helps. Thanks.

@SucculentSocial2 жыл бұрын
oh... how long have you had it?
@Kylie_Nobody2 жыл бұрын
3 years now, but only about 2 centimeters growth and 3 pups
@SucculentSocial2 жыл бұрын
@@Kylie_Nobody 3 years.. hmmm, it could be a good time to consider repotting with new soil, add some plant food. Or even changing the pot to a slightly bigger one. They tend to fill up the space for growth that you’d give them especially if you time the repotting leading up to their growing season..
