When you move to your new house. Do not overdo. Don't start too many projects at once. Is a good garden is the best way to begin. Then some chickens. I just watched that youtube video. Three rivers homestead. A lovely family. They have a video out where they talk about the beginning of their homestead. Very informational.

We grew Mini Love watermelons last year because they were supposed to be a smaller vine. They did wonderfully in our raised bed garden and did not try to "take over" like a typical watermelon might have. This year, we planted Sangria and have harvested one so far (and it was awesome!). Thanks so much for sharing your time in the watermelon patches! Hope Mr. H heals up quickly and is back to his regular activities in "no time". ☺

Mr. and Mrs. H ya’ll are too funny. I am currently doing the melon and squash hokey pokey vines going everywhere in my Ga. Garden too. So many vines to maneuver through and with all of that hard work you don’t want to damage the vines by stepping on them. I am going to have to order some of those Yamata melon seeds from y’all once you get into them.

😳I can't believe that Mr. Brother H had not experienced salt on watermelon! That was a common watermelon accompaniment growing up in Louisiana! Just be mindful of using too much. Hope you feel better and heal, my brother!

In Michigan, i couldnt grow watermelons. So we had to wait till they came up from down south. Mrs. H i agree. Eating the melon with salt brings out the flavor of each different kinds of melons. Mr. H. hope you heal fast and get feeling better. Im with Mr. H, get a big piece, set your lips on it and Um um um um and devour that beautiful watermelon. Looks great God bless you and yours.

I love to see successful watermelon patches. I have not had any luck growing them myself but i finally found 2 seedless yellow watermelons at the local peach shed. Best $8 a piece I've spent all season. Get well Mr. H. Prayers for a speedy healing.

I remember those huge water melons, when my father was stationed at, “Ft. Benning Georgia,” back in the 1960’s. Now a days you don’t see watermelons that size, and all the good seeds are gone from the watermelons insides. No longer are there any seeds found inside the water melons, sold in today’s supermarkets. Wish I could find, Non-GMO melons.

I ordered watermelon seeds from an Amazon source. They were supposed to be black diamond, turns out they’re sugar baby watermelons. I am not a happy camper 🤦‍♀️ I was so excited to have black diamonds and have been very disappointed when I found tiny little melons on the vine. 😂 I’ll know better now and order from a reputable source from now on. The only way I can do lawnwork at my late age is after a light breakfast I pop vitamins and minerals. Extra on magnesium and calcium to avoid cramping. I also take some Himalayan/pink salt under the tongue. Also, cold coconut juice has potassium, which is also beneficial. Drinking lots of water will deplete your minerals so you have to repenish. Florida is hot, hot, hot. Take care. You two are a lovely couple stay safe.

Freeze watermelon in chunks on baking pan, then place in freezer bags or containers. When you want some, just PARTIALLY thaw. Awesome ❤

Mr H did play catcher on a baseball team!! Your catching those melons like crazy ,we had a seed less water melon was wierd in the middle kinda dry , we didn't grow it ourselves, I'm not buying another one I'm embarrassed to say but it cost 10 dollars !!! I have a ground hog that in two days he's ate 3 heads of cabbage and he's picked the biggest tomato's, not to eat them just wanted to have that up close look to make sure I was doing a good job. But his little nails malled it so have to give it to the chickens. Ate off a cauliflower and sampled a top of a brussel sprout. He's a going...somewhere! Your garden as usual is absolutely wonderful. Mr. H get better and take care of yourself. Maybe Mrs. H will make you your eggplant dish you love so much. Yes I love salt on the watermelon.

Picking a waterm we lon when not ripe and letting it set will make it mushy. Also, if it gets put in a too cold fridge or even a freezer, it will make it mushy.
