I am impressed with your harvest ! The size is great! I don't usually use hay for my mulch because of the seeds and use straw but if I had plentiful hay available I would be tempted to use it. It breaks down nicely and improves the soil. Good Job !

@@carolparrish194 Thanks, I appreciate it. I have used the ez straw from menards amd it works great. But I do have 2 big round bales of hay to use up. And the weeds pull out easy because the roots are usually just in the hay and not the soil. Thanks for watching.

Don't eat the green ones. The solanine goes through the whole tuber. Use the green ones for seed next year. Otherwise, I liked your video. You have some fertile looking soil. Do you add much compost or manure to it ?
@busdrivers3365Ай бұрын
@@keilarsbraegrower1581 I usually add composted manure to the beds. I have also added it to where I plant potatoes. This year was just fertilizer though at planting I believe. Maybe some worm castings as well. I did not know that about the green potatoes, I have always just cut that part off with no problems. Thanks

potatoes for mash are my favourites ,i am thinking of growing in buckets next season ,digging them out is becoming a pain in the neck 👍new subscriber here,and fellow youtuber 👍

@@GanggangPeanut I love my fried canned potatoes. I agree, digging them can be a pain. That's why I am going shallow with hay on top. I am not that great at container gardening lol I'll look at your channel and subscribe. Thanks

Those potatoes are not even attached to a plant
@busdrivers3365Ай бұрын
@@szzk7937 Lol. I believe most of them seperate when I pull the plant up. When the plant is fully dead that can happen as well. But trust me, they were attached at some point.. Thanks for watching
