I started playing with multi hit, but now I find that I prefer to have it and zombie spawns off. It feels like I need to be smarter about picking my battles but there’s more payoff when I do. So yea, I agree, mess around with the settings and play how you like!

@@deusvult6229 I rarely use mods, but I do use one that lets you craft window bars and a grill guard on vehicles when you get metalworking and vehicle mechanics to a certain level. Gives me that “Mad Max” feeling and I find that without it I have no incentive to level those skills. That’s the beauty of Zomboid, there’s so many mods and settings to play around with and then you can die from an infection or closet zombie and then start all over with different mods or settings.

0:48 To be fair, multi-hit is more realistic. I'm sure that if a blade of any type (knives, swords, spears, axes) cleaves through something/someone, it'll keep traveling until it's forced to a halt by the wielder or another solid object (I.e, the ground, bone, a wall, etc.) Maybe, in the next build, the devs could implement a RNG based mechanic to make a weapon the survivor uses to become stuck inside a zombie, similar to how we can find some weapons, such as the Katana. If this has been already implemented, maybe they can make it a more common event to balance out the multi-hit mechanic. It's unfortunate that people see it as an easy mode, when even faced with insane feats like presented in this video (mad respect btw, I personally couldn't do this without either a small group or some crazy luck) all turning off multi-hit does is make guns more of a necessity instead of being another option in the game's vast array of weapons. Not completely invalidating melee entirely, but making them only useable for clearing small groups.

There actually is kind of a mechanic like that in the game already. If you're using a knife and perform a jaw stab, your knife has a chance to get stuck in the zombie.

I think multihit is more realistic but its implemented badly. Its too easy to get a multihit with weapons that should be hard and range and angle are not really considered.

I mean in reality, with a crowbar, you're probably whacking one skull at a time, but you should be able to shove one in a way that pushes back another and probably trips a few more. They aren't known for being dexterous. I take multi hit because I'm here for fun, not difficulty. I usually also set the vehicles to max because you do from like 8 vehicles per town to 40-50

In my game, if you don't find a gun by day 7, you're basically dead. Sprinters, 24/7 rainstorms, full respawns and I have this mod that makes them move around constantly and wander towards the player. Multi hit won't even save you from mine, you NEED guns. The "no multi hit allowed" people are out of date and out of touch, they would get ran over even with multi hit on and using a katana.

In real life infected wounds will also leave scar tissue as well, unless of course it's a very large infected cut and goes untreated... Then basically that part of the body will experience so much tissue damage that itll need to be completely amputated!😁✨

I think the number of targets hit by multihit should be proportional to strength and weapon skill. Only a warlord could swing a weapon and hit 5 zeds at the same time. On the other hand, I can't imagine a weak character doing the same. Multi hit could be included but needs balance.

@@bidenonabender5903 At high speed vehicles should take considerable damage from zombies... have you ever seen a vehicle after a hit and run?? That said, at *low* speeds you should be able to grind up zombies almost infinitely without taking much damage. It's quite unrealistic how the wheels eventually just fly off after you've backed over like 100 zombies. (For the record slowly backing up over them in circles seems to be the most effective way to use a vehicle as a weapon in this game. I've cleared entire cities doing that)

I feel like multi-hit should be stock feature, but it should wear you out more anytime you have to swing hard enough to hit 2-3 enemies closing in. That would be the realistic way to handle it... you'd really have to follow through to land multiple effective hits with one swing. That, or make the damage less on multi-hits, to represent the better aim and focus you can achieve just swinging on a single target.

you should try CDDA zombies, there's two in the workshop make sure you install the newer one, it's great, gives you a challenge although it might be *too* hard at times so make sure you crank the mutation rate down a notch

I play with multi hit. I don't give a F. I also play with mods and altered settings to fix the lack of ammunition. If the setting is in the rural U.S. you can guarantee that there are millions of rounds. Scavenging an entire city, as one of the only day one survivors, only to find a few thousand rounds makes zero sense. It also makes zero sense that you can't hit multiple targets after practicing for thousands of zombies. Everyone's mileage may vary. I'm going for realism and enjoying the game. If you want to make the game unrealistically difficult, go for it. You want to stick some proverbial bamboo splinters in your toenails and kick a door? That it your gaming experience. I find it tedious and boring after a few hours of kiting hordes to smack one at a time. There are only so many hours in a day. Some of us want to enjoy our games AND time for our responsibilities. Some of us have families to tend to.
