Yeah, I got really mad that they turned him (and most of the firm) into a struggling, (self-)destructive idiot later on. Ans I don’t mean his panic attacks, I like that arc. I mean professionally. I was fine that they made him a little risky and not fully honest but they threw his credibility as a lawyer, his talent and his strengths in general out the window at some point to make it more about the firm surviving.

With TV there was incentive to have a long running series, which would mean complex layered characters. With streaming, its just not the case. 10 episodes a season, for couple of season.Thats it. As long running series dont acquire new users.

In network, you still want to attract new viewers, but unlike streaming, back in the day, it was harder to get caught up on previous episodes. This is an interesting conundrum you have pointed out :-)

@@madsatyr Thanks. Its all marketing :P Series over network get marketed on TRP. A long running series will supposedly have higher TRP and higher ad rates, coz its long running. For streaming, they have their numbers, with increasing number of seasons, new users signing up and watching those series reduces. For big budget, I guess number is around 5 season, for mid budget its around 2 seasons. How reliable these stats are, no one knows. Its all based on "vibe".

Streaming companies want to project new user signup numbers and hours watched, which usually dips after Season 2. For high budget series its usually till Season 5. After every season actors, writers gets costlier, so it usually does not make sense for streaming companies, as user subs fees and hours watched remain constant or decline.
