How do I check my charging system on my 125 coolster. After driving it for a couple days I have to recharge the battery.

I installed a new stator on my 110 taotaob1 and seemed to get a better spark but the wires coming from the stator I bought changed colors on a few wires. I always thought the blue wire is the cdi wire and I hooked up blue and white to blue and white, white to white, yellow to yellow, red coming out of the stator to red and blk on the harness. Then I have a green and white from the stator and the only one left on the harness is black. Is that correct? I would send a picture but I'm not sure how the plug is sparking but still won't start.

I'm glad I took pictures of before I changed the stator the green wire was replaced by a green and white wire which runs to blk on the harness where it used to be solid green. it gets spark and tries to fire it started barely but I guess the carb is bad so I ordered a new one today. I have one question the connections are really loose where they go from the stator to the harness do I just take a pair of plyers and cremp them down so they just don't slide right out or do I cramp the female piece. Will it close it a little bit to make the connection tighter. Because it literally slides right out and as much as these things shake and vibrate they will just slide out when I get the new carb.. How do I fix that

I have a 110cc atv peace from China. I can get it to turn over if I place a screw driver across the to bolts for the starter to spin. But I can’t get the kill switch start button to work I have ordered 4 of them off line the pin color codes don’t match. I can get the brake lights to come on when they are compressed but the head light will not come on and I’m lost as to what to look for. When I push the start button the brake light goes dim so that tell me something is trying to happen but not taking place. Any clue as to what I should look for ? And should the fuse be hook to the battery post also??

Hi @Harvey Spooner i bought a atv quad 4 stroke FYM 125 Sport 125cc.. But it comes with no battery.. Does it needs to have one? I can kickstart it and runs but has no tail lights or neutral light... do i need one battery for those to work?? plus i love your videos and would be grately appreciate it if you can find a manual or something of my atv. thanks Harvey!!

It needs all of those to run accessories such as the headlights and the neutral light you mentioned.

Hay I have a loncin 70cc I done what you seid pulled the white and yellow... And the white with the black stripe I pulled that iswell I'm geting a very weak spark but I can't get it started I'm jumping from the starter it's just turning over... Aslo I lost my key is it green and black I have to put together thanks

Question I have no power on the handlebar switch I could make the bike run but I have no 12v at the switch for lights or star swich

Hey Victor!!! Normally the power goes from the battery to a fuse, to the key switch, then to the handle bar switch.... I would go backwards from the handlebar switch or forward from the battery.... I hope this helps.... Thanks for asking, watching, and commenting!!!

Hey Samuel, Disconnect the battery from the ATV, charge it up, let is sit for a few days, hook it up and see if it held the charge, assuming it does, there are basically 3 circuits that run off Ur 12Volts, the start circuit, the lights, and the accessories.... Assuming Ur starter is not running all the time and that Ur lights are off, that leaves the accessories including the remote control safely turnoff if there is one.... Thanks where I would look.... with the charging side if you have 2 yellow wires does it matter which way they go on

Harvey hey when I hook the battery up. the voltage regulator gets hot hot and down at the stator it gets warm warm so what would solve that ?because I think that's why my battery is going dead just setting there. On that Chinese mini 110 four wheeler thank ! And so you know I do have everything else unplugged and them two parts are getting hot but when I unplug them they get cold again

Hey Samuel, Ur regulator should act as a 1 way valve, it puts power into the battery, it should not me acting as a load... I'm thinking that it is Ur problem.... I would disconnect the regulator from the engine and battery until U get a replacement... Thanks for the info, asking good questions, watching, and commenting!!!

Here's a question for you harvey. I have a 110cc tao Tao atv that when I connect the battery the starter keeps spinning till I disconnect the ground from battery or the wires from the solenoid to the cdi. I tried changing the solenoid, still same. Changed the cdi, still same. Disconnected the starter button switch and it still does it. Even with the key off it does. I cut the harness covers off and checked for grounding issue but nothing, all taped. It feels like it's a wiring issue. I have a spare pit bike harness and have watched your video's to get spark but I would like to keep the charging system and handlebar starter switch.

So many wire harnesses are hacked up I'm starting to think that's how they come from the factory. I think 7 out of 10 atvs and quads for sale have some kind of wiring problem.

i have a 110 quad that has a siren, key fob kill switch and alarm. how can i wire it, i want to do away with all of it? i just want to use the key and starter/kill button.

If direct to starter doesn't start ehaye the issue. I had lights on and engine turned on when I tried to start the kymco atv. I thought it was cdi that was bad. Ordered ac cdi (wrong) and hooked it up. Now lights are out. Bike turn over by solenoid

Harvey I have a coolster mountopz 110 3050c Atv and the 15al250v fuse is blown and I was wondering is there a way to bypass this

Hey Chris, I would replace it with another 15A fuse, or hack another fuse and fuse holder of 15A in its place.... I don't recommend bypassing fuses as a lot of damage or a fire can happen.... Thanks for asking, watching, and commenting!!!

Harvey Spooner I tried hacking another fuse it melted my whole starter ignition wires the red and the black and there is a three wire connection on this coaster ATV it has a white blue and another wire that I have no clue where it hooks up I will trace it down and get back with you there’s also a black plastic box mounted on the far right sideOf the ATV if you’re standing at the rear of it it has three wires going into it and a little black wire rolled up going to nothing do you know what this box says it is not the CDI or the relay box or the spark plug box although it is mounted about a foot away on the same side as the spark plug box

Harvey, I just bought a honda 200x for my son and it has no spark... do you have any videos on how to troubleshoot a 200X, I seen a lot of your vedios on 200S and not sure if it's the same steps. also not sure if the values of the pulser and stator are the same on a 200X as a 200S. keep up the great work, your vedios are great. Hey Omar Tianga, The 200S and 200X ignition systems depending on the model year are about the same.... If U follow the troubleshooting, basically realizing that the CDI values must be happy to get a spark, U should figure out what the issue is.... I will be posting a video on a China Quad ignition system tonight, given that it is a clone of the Honda ignition, troubleshooting techniques are the same, though the resistive valves obtained at the CDI plug are a little different.... Hey Samuel, I was going to say eBay, but, shocks seem to be expensive from there.... Actually, I tried a few sites, they seem to be $20+ each everywhere.... I would buy a junk ATV at the scrap yard and recycle the shocks or find one on craigslist for $50 and get them there.... I hope this helps, that for asking, I learned how expensive they can be, thanks also for watching and commenting!!!
