Has A.I. Discovered Alien Life?

New signals from deep space! Astronomers just announced the discovery of 8 potentially alien radio signals, using machine learning to comb through old data sets.
These signals came from 5 different stars, all within 90 light years of Earth.
One of them came from a G-type star, just like our own sun. Another one mysteriously stopped and reappeared 3 days later. And all were narrowband signals, which are rarely produced by natural sources.
While follow-up observations have not yet confirmed these signals, intensive further study is now underway - and this new machine learning approach to combing signal data could radically accelerate the search for alien intelligence.
It remains to be seen what these signals are. But this breakthrough suggests that the question of “are we alone?” may not be answered by us humans, but by our machines.
Special thanks to Franck Marchis for help with this video.

We have better algorithms to sieve through the data. 10+ years ago, the biggest problem that many industries, such as pharma, had was that there was too much data being generated and not enough analysts.

it has to be very advanced tho, our radio waves dont even reach 80 lightyears by then it would have crumbled widened and dissipated in the void. But if some advanced being managed to concentrate a beam like radio signal with a narrow focus and send it directly to a star (depending on ly) it could look like the narrowband we have seen.

@@YeshuaSaves3 easy explanation for that. It’s a higher tier civilization. The biggest problem with any signal reaching us through space will always be twofold - language barrier and degradation. Even a ‘universal’ mathematical signal can be missed if their base is different from ours. The problem becomes worse when you realize how many segments of said signals could be missing thanks to conflicting signals and gravitational forces. Our stellar neighbors could be screaming at us from their home planets to shut up, but we can’t even tell because of the noise between us and the fact we can’t recognize their screams as anything beyond the background radiation.

I wonder if you could use the clockwork radio principle to power a probe that won’t be needed to be activated for decades, or possibly even longer. Like a probe sent to Alpha Centauri perhaps, with Solar Radiometers on the probe to both activate the probe as it nears the Solar system its aimed towards, and recharge the clockwork mechanism like a giant self rewinding watch that never stops running. The electronics would have to be powered like a clockwork radio, negating the need for batteries or Nuclear power, which will degrade over extremely long periods. This is the issue with the voyager probes as they age, despite the fact that the electronics and computers within the probe are functioning perfectly after nearly half a century of constant use. The probe would have to be large and capable of making independent decisions, which may require a large amount of older hardier computer chips. You could even go a step further, and have small landers on the larger probe that could be fired and directed towards other planets. They could be hardy probes, with a self contained non rechargeable clockwork power source of their own. Preferably a hardy probe to gather planetary data quickly, similar to the Venetian and Titan probes of the past. The only issue would be having a secondary rechargeable clockwork mechanism to power the transmitter, which would have to be very powerful for the extremely long distances to earth. Storage of information until broadcast would be vital. If Spacex can reduce the cost of launches further, perhaps we could have a mother ship probe that could launch smaller satellites like a Clockwork Cassinis, to examine planetary systems and their moons, as well as launch the aforementioned smaller probes This is a bit long winded and hypothetical but its worth thinking about!!

@@pochypilipiuk2300 I mentioned faster-than-light travel as an example for something we can't do, no matter how much we want to. The idea that we can do whatever we set our mind to is, sadly, unrealistic.

@@citronski I agree with you that we can do many good things but we do not do them. How many cures have been discovered but not launched to the market because they are not profitable? But you can't deny the idea that the human brain has no limits, 15-year-olds graduating from Harvard or sending dozens of rockets in search of other intelligent life. As well as other idiots claiming that the Earth is flat hahahaha.

I think that humanity should learn ascension mechanics, the science of creation and understand that for thousands of years our DNA has been mutated to the point we cannot remember that were not alone in this universe and don't need to prove anything to anybody about this.
