Or perhaps they evolved in a different atmospheric pressure, and wouldn't function on Earth. There are plenty of ways Earth could be hell for alien life. Another one featured in Mass Effect, depending on how life works on their planet, all plants and animals on Earth might be toxic for them to eat.

I just absolutely LOVE melodysheep's videos, they really convey the wonders of the universe, they tell us our own role in the grand scheme of things and most of all, they look and sound absolutely fascinating. Then there is dark matter, we have no idea what it is made of, but we know it interacts via gravity and about 3/4 of the universe is Dark Energy, which is responsible for the accelerated expansion of the universe. Right now we don't even have the slightest idea what that really is. It's common knowledge that we only understand a tiny fraction of the universe and "traditional matter" (i.e. stuff we understand) only makes about 5-6% of everything there is.
