I was surprised how much I like this game especially after so many fair/bad reviews on my Switch. I like the game play mechanics and graphics very much. For me this was a different way of playing turn based rogue games. Not easy to play but interesting and unique. I did not see the punishing difficulty this reviewer claims.

I'm glad to see that you're enjoying the game! I like the core gameplay and the lane switching mechanics, but I did find that the difficulty worked against the gameplay system. Happy to see you're enjoying it though :)

I personally love this game for its difficulty arc. There are several game mechaniccs to learn and although subtle some of the later characters give way to different style builds that give the game endless replayability. I give it a solid 9/10 and will even re-buy it in the future if necessary.

I think you are a bit too hard on the game, to me it doesn't really feel unfair. Especially early on when you haven't unlocked much, you only have "tutorial" non threatening enemies. I think you can always win your first run if you mastered the game mechanics. I feel the game does a great job at introducing more dangerous enemies by beating the game. Since your review is not the only one saying it is "too hard" I guess there has to be some truth to it. I can understand that you will think the game is unfair if it takes 10 hours to unlock the first character. But don't be mistaken, luck is a pretty minor factor. I guess one of it's big strengths is a big weakness as well, you unlock a lot of stuff by beating the game and it really let's you learn gradually. But at the same time this means that if you can't beat the first few games you haven't unlocked much at all and have to keep finding the same items/spells and fight the same enemies. I felt the game got a lot more fun once you've beaten it 3-4 times, then you unlock a lot of new interesting enemies. (spellcasters, enemies with 20 shields that have low hp, very fast enemies, etc) You also have access to a lot more spells and items, making it so you don't end up with the same few spells every game. Just wanted to drop a comment like this because I really enjoy the game and I'm a bit sad so many people are giving it a bad review! Cheers

I'm happy to hear that you're enjoying the game, and that you've gotten through quite a bit of it! Even after the review, I'm still playing the game periodically just to see if my opinion changes over time, and to see if the game shines its true colors the more you progress. While I can see the greatness found in the game the more I play it, I do believe that the road to take there doesn't make the journey feel that rewarding. But you're right: some of the enemies later on do shake things up a bit (even if they visually look exactly like everyone else, and even though you feel like you're at a disadvantage going up against enemies with 20 shield just because of how the combat system is built). Regardless, I'm still putting time into it. I'm glad you're enjoying the game though! Let me know if you continue to enjoy it in the future! Stay fresh :)

So basically launch issues. The devs are promising to patch and continually update the game, so consider buying later when all that is said and done. The guys who tested the game must be pros or something.

I wouldn't say all of the games problems are typical launch issues, in fact, I wouldn't even say that the majority of them are. However, I am looking forward to see how they update the game. If there are some major changes in balancing, I may consider re-reviewing the game. I guess we'll have to wait! And you're right: those guys must be pros or something, no wonder they get paid to test games xD
