We need Djokovic to get knocked down to No. 3 so we can have a Sinner-Alcaraz Grand Slam finals.

Or, let him go back to #1 and you can potentially get a Alcaraz-Sinner Salm final as well lol

The guy is 21 and won 4 slams already. Sky is the limit. No, he is not unstoppable. He will have his limits like every other player both physically and emotionally. Just his bar is great deal higher.

An excellent commentary and upload. A great insight into Carlitos at Wimbledon. I picked Jannik or Carlitos to win this year and a very close match in their expected semifinal clash, although Meddy put a stop to that happening. I noticed Carlitos looked different from last year. He seemed more comfortable and confident on the grass and his whole “stature” looked stronger, his “gait” more so. I followed all of his matches and Frances Tiafoe definitely put the freighters on him in that match, the only player to take him to five sets. He was playing under his usual level but did enough to win when it mattered. Playing Meddy he was very close to top form after losing the first set and I felt his serve still needed to be better. Come the final against Novak(who I felt wasn’t tested at all and played one match fewer) Carlitos produced his best form from the getgo! After that first set where I felt his first serve percentage was much better than in his previous matches, his concentration level had increased. Gone were the “walkabout” lapses and he took the first set with ease. The second set followed the same pattern and we all know what happened in the third and those three championship points. I thought “Noooo, not 2019 again” with Federer. To answer your question Carlitos I believe has become “THE” unstoppable force in tennis for one so young and it will be down to Jannik to stop him in future Grand Slams.

Great comment. However I have never believed nor saw that the "new" Jannick is as talented as Carlos is. Carlos is in a special place above the rest of the tour.

We'll have to wait and see who wins the US Open. I'd love to see Alcaraz take it, but if it's Sinner or anyone else, that's fine with me, so long as they retire Djokovic. If we look back at what Roger Federer did from 2003 to 2010, we've got 16 majors in those 8 years, with 11 crammed in the 2004-07 stretch. For comparison, I would match RF's 2004 to CA's 2024, and the same with subsequent years. There's almost 22 years between Roger and Carlos, but if we consider when they each started winning big time, it's safe to cut it down to 20 years for comparison purposes. So if Alcaraz wins a lot of majors in the coming years, we've already seen it before. The question is who his greatest rivals will be. It could be Sinner, but I think it might be someone who today isn't even playing on the ATP Tour. Nadal is nearly 5 years younger than Federer, Djokovic is nearly 6 years younger, and we know how that turned out. Without the other two monsters, Fed might have won 30 majors.

I’m excited about the future of men’s tennis. Alcaraz, Sinner, Mensik….and I want to see how high Alex DeMinaur rises though he’s reaching mid career. There is also Cobolli and Darderi.

People seem to want to exaggerate all of the time. Sinner is technically the No. 1 player at the moment and yes Carlos to a beatdown to Novak in the Wimby final, but remember that Novak had just had knee surgery and Sinner was ailing. I like Carlos but with his record of injuries I don't know how long he will be able to stay healthy to continue to play at a high level

He also has a first class team which consists of his personal doctor, physio (who is also a nutritionist), trainer, podiatrist, mental coach, and a very tightly knit family. They have also worked on his schedule. He doesn't need to play too many tournaments to gain his form. He will be fine.

People always talk about alcaraz’s health meanwhile it’s Jannik since RG who has allegedly been injured or sick and is once again missing Olympics with tonsillitis in the SUMMER?

What do u mean unstoppable? He almost lost to Tiafo....also he got into 5 setters against Sinner and Zverev ...he's good .he's really good ..but he can be beaten ...

He just played bad those few games... I mean thats also why Sinner lost.

Djokovic also went through many "lucky" 5 setters from 2018-2023 in slams. Tiafoe wasn't close to winning and not close to a match point.

M just saying that it's not like he won French and Wimbledon without losing a set or something...he's beatable...but will get be beaten ?? I dont think so .

@@roydondsa yes unless hypothetically prime federer school him on grass and prime nadal on clay. But tennis had changed tactically as well, more players are complete today, causing more difficult to dominate scoreline and players are more fit to play 4-5 sets. Alcaraz, Sinner and Djoker were alright going 4-5 sets in many slam rounds since 2018. During Fedal time was 3-0 all the time. I think not as easy to 3-0 today as more players have the weapons to win 1-2 sets.

Mentally he cant be beaten at the moment. He can be down two sets and mentally come back to win the match
