I don’t think it stunted him. His career isn’t over and in music and entertainment; you can peak more than once. It happens all the time. I feel like we haven’t seen his peak because he hasn’t peaked as a person yet. He’s still growing and hopefully his experiences will continue to push him to greater heights. Also we all make mistakes and bad decisions especially when we are young and then to add fame, fortune, and influence is a lot for a teen. All we can do is just pray for the brother and hopes that he just continues to put God first and let him order his steps. As fans; all we can do is observe through the lens but to know what he feels and goes through is not the same thing. Just pray for him and support him and offer fair constructive criticism is what’s best. But he hasn’t peaked yet. The best is yet to come.

@@TheMelody15 thas what I’m sayin 🥴. As dope as Chris was and atill is, , he was never going to be MJ, just off the era alone and r&b being so infused with hip hop. @@simonsez1787 Exactly! You explained it nicely, MJ being more broad definitely helped him, Chris do have broad singles singles like With You, Forever, Please Don't Judge Me, Turn Up The Music, Yeah 3X, She Ain't You, etc however he heavily relied on sexual based & drugs themes in music. He’s topped the Billboard singles chart twice. The Billboard album chart at least 3 times I believe. Won a Grammy. Most-awarded person at the BET Awards. VMA’s, AMA’s (including one for Artist of the Year), Billboard Awards, etc. He’s the highest-selling male R&B artist of *all time*. Only male singer to have 100+ songs chart. Holds the #1 & #2 spots for longest-running #1s on rhythmic radio. Completed the ultimate comeback from a situation that would’ve killed almost anyone else’s career. Widely considered one of the best performers of his generation. Widely considered a/the king of R&B. Has maintained an insanely loyal fanbase. Had a #1 record while in prison. Has been one of the most hated figures on the planet for 12 years now and still accomplished everything I previously mentioned and more. What exactly makes so many say he didn’t “reach his potential”?
@Tayloredup543 жыл бұрын
I think what bothers me the most about this topic is that it’s so often the conversation when Chris’ name comes up in terms of his overall career and legacy. Like, we get it, he was poised to be the next Michael Jackson and messed it up. So, in short, no, he did not reach his full potential. That’s not where the conversation should stop, or start, for that matter. What Chris has done and is continuing to do even today is one of the most impressive careers in R&B and music in general. Even if you took away the controversy or applied his stats to another artist, it would still be undeniably great. I would love to see him play at the Superbowl one day. He would have the stage lit with all of his songs. I saw him last year and he put on a good show. It's a shame that he's still black balled in the industry. He's made his mistakes but the industry wouldn't let him learn from them. He's a phenomenal performer, the second coming to MJ.
@ivanivez7456 Жыл бұрын
Sadly they'll never let him do the Super Bowl cos of what he did to Rihanna in 2009. Had the Rihanna incident not happened, Chris would've done the Super Bowl years ago. Also the fact that Jay-Z is the one who picks who does the Super Bowl means Chris doesn't stand a chance

I heard no lies in this video. I've been saying this for a long time but the sensative Breezy fans are so quick to call u a hater..lol. But like someone else mentioned in the comments, Breezy has boxed himself into the "fast food" lane (in my opinion...doing way too many features and collabs with rappers, wanting to continue to adopt that same type of rap, overly saturated sound), this has stunted his artistry which sucks because he's so talented. But it's not only that. His unfortunate past violence with women (not just RiRi), him wanting to be a Blood and publicly marketing his affiliation, him sniffin that "white girl" coke..etc), so many things just started to CHEAPEN his brand. The shit with him just started lookin ghetto asf...lol! This is why the gatekeepers in the industry don't really place on him on the same playing field as artists in the likes of Beyonce, Taylor Swift, Usher, Adele, even the Weeknd. Look how they snatched his MJ Tribute performance with Ciara off the AMA's. Unfirtunately, Chris' brand and public persona has cheapened down so much that some just no longer acknowledge or accept him as a talented artist. Now this isn't to say that Chris hasn't been putting out good music. But the scale just tips the other way more when it comes to him being consistant over the years in delivering top, quality music. Something has been missing with him for some time now. Just sayin.

How has Chris growth stunted? He’s one of the best r&b acts of this generation. This should go to someone that hasn’t had a fraction of success he has

It’s like Kobe and others say Shaq could’ve been the GOAT if he worked harder in the off season and focused more on his conditioning. Shaq is already an all time legend but everyone can still see what he was missing throughout his career, and that was dedication. Shaqs sub par work ethic could be equated with all the incidents Breezy went through as both hampered them from progressing from the superstar level to a rare level that only a few individuals have ever reached

@@diamondlife8086 thank you. It’s not hard to understand. Stunted growth is someone not reaching their FULL potential. It’s not saying they didn’t have success or didn’t become a legend. But it’s just that they didn’t achieve all that they could’ve for whatever reason.
@anthonyyoung51793 жыл бұрын
@@diamondlife8086 true but i heard a couple of “Breezy” snippets and if all goes write, he could be back on track.it seems like a lot of his songs that are really good get either leaked or put on a mixtape. His track listing is his worst flaw tbh. If he just does 15 songs on this next one I think he’ll be fine.

idk about anyone else but I feel like in my opinion, I've already seen all there is to see and heard all there is to hear from chris brown. I've lost a lot of interest in him and I'm tired of hearing about how he has sex with all these women. I literally feel like I know every aspect of his sex life from his music and it's just getting to be the same old song and dance to me but I will never take away from the fact that he is a very multitalented guy. I think I backed off when I really started to see how childish, arrogant and abusive of a person he was said to be plus the colorist remarks towards a group of ppl that has always supported him as an artist. I still liked his heartbreak on a full moon album and a couple of his new songs he's dropped but it's just getting boring to me now.

Heartbreak on a full moon is a really good album with alot of amazing songs that should've went on to be singles. Unfortunately Chris have made a sleuth of horrible decisions and overtime has kind of boxed himself in. Looking at how things happen around the release of his past few singles it seems there is agenda against him but he doesn't make it hard either with all the bad and in my opinion very immature choices.
