You guys should ask Billy or Ryan down for a weekend this summer and bring Simon and Billy’s new metal detector along😢😅. Simon seems to be very interested in these things. As a former archeology student and museum worker and conservator trainee , so am i😂 What a dream team Nick and Simon would be, two very intelligent and enthusiastic men, both so good at communicating and coming up with ideas and solutions !! Those two brains and four hands together , could get anything done, I’m sure!!! They were both in England demolishing the organ together , but sadly we didn’t get to see them interact much. I’ll pray that the day they’ll work together will come. A fun and interesting thing like this would be perfect !! ❤🎉❤🎉❤

Get in touch with a local archaeology group, I'm sure they would be happy to come and look at your feature in the field and would have the local knowledge and contacts to help you find out more. Not sure what you have in your area but Prehistoric features and earthworks in France are phenomenal.

There's not much variation in grass/ crop colour, which usually indicates building works so maybe ancient earthworks.

Hello Magical Moons, wonderful video as usual. It's fantastic how things are coming together. NICK and Ru in particular I showed my husband the ariel shot of the hill, we" both said definitely needs a "dig"! He then said it was a " revetment" , which is an "earthwork" defense hill/mound. He then found a few pictures to show me but they were all fortifications, but the "star shape" of the battlements was identical to the archiolgy of the ground on the hill. So perhaps there was a battle there centuries ago and a fortifications had been built. Your home is magical enough to have something like that on the land. One of the photos my husband pulled up was in Belgium, the design was very similar. Happy hunting. Good luck. LxX ❤

The Romans liked things absolutely geometrical. They also used the landscape to their advantage. There are springs there but it doesn't look Roman to me. Look at Roman blueprints. Their Villas and bathhouses were always the same. That's why it is relatively easy to determine. They rarely deviated from their plans. I also don't think it is a Viking ship burial. ;- )They used mounts to bury their chiefs. I don't know the topography of your area. It could be something natural. A depression. You can usually spot these areas even better when it is REALLY dry. A very dry summer should give you a perfect outline. A lot of archaeological discoveries have been made that way., You did say that your house is part of a bigger complex. A manor house and your house was for the workers. Maybe something during one of the wars? If it makes sense strategically, there could be something like an outlook. Only you can determine if that makes sense in some way. Nonetheless, there should be LOTS of archaeological gems hidden in your soil. I am sure Rupert and you will have lots of fun finding them. Coins that were lost, perhaps even a small hoard. People used to bury their valuables during times of war. It is an interesting region. I am sure you will find a lot of things. I would bet that you will find LOTS of coins. WOrkers were usually very good with keeping their coins together because it was so valuable to them, but still, some were lost. You will def find lots of agricultural items. Which can also be lots of fun. Forged nails. I find it so fascinating. The person who worked it last is long gone. And then, all of a sudden, we find something and are the first ones to see it again and hold it. It makes that connection. I studied history and I am always dismayed that children don't get that spark for history in school. I had one great history teacher. He ran around the classroom and reenacted the Battle of Hastings. And then-bang -William shot an arrow and hit Harold in the eye. ( Debatable) And this, ladies and gentlemen, is the exact moment when French became the language of the nobles in England and the French influence of the English language started. That's why they still say pork and beef. I will never forget that. I got carried away again. Great job with the lights.

Maybe dig a couple of small test pits to see what is there, even plot out and map the length and width of your responses with the metal detector. The lights are great, no more groping around in half light. Wonderful to see the legends all healthy and comfortable. 💕🇦🇺

I noted with great interest the anomaly in the field yesterday, having a virtual life-long interest in archaeology. The best bet would be for your family historian, Toby, to check out to see if there is a local archaeology group for their advice. They would be really interested. There are a lot of possibilities as to what the structure/s are. Looking at the surroundings, there doesn't seem to be any access to old trackways or roads and being in the middle of what is now a large field, really hard to guess what it was. Good luck!!

There are definitely geometric shapes but I could also see a half moon, and what looked to be the shape of a horses head in the area in different drone views. Old/ historic maps will show previous buildings, topography, land plats, etc.. most were used for taxation purposes.. and are hand drawn. Local property office, library .. may even find them online and save a trip..
