I'm really proud of Gary for working hard to beat his alcohol addiction and deal with the trauma that he suffered from his childhood I'm also glad that he has finally found the happiness that he deserves

Gary Oldman is the best actor I’ve seen. His range is incredible and he got through his alcohol addiction. From everything I’ve read, it seems that he is innocent from the alleged abuse of his wife. A through investigation was done on him by authorities in the midst of his divorce and Gary was granted full custody of their kids while she could have some visitation with them, but only under supervision. If Gary was so abusive, I don’t think he would be allowed to have custody of his kids. His son also stated in that open letter that his mom has some problems and that could have been a reason as to why she made those claims. While people question whether he’d be able to remember those things happening, people begin to form memories that we can remember from the age of 2, so if he was 3, it would be fairly reasonable if he remembered seeing his dad beating his mom if that was true. That’s something one can really forget. Hopefully, she gets the help she needs. Gary continues to show how great of an actor he is and I wish him the best as well.

Man oh man Garry Oldman from Bram Stoker's Dracula to doctor Zachary Smith in lost in space and Harry potter's Serious Black I could go on and on what a chameleon actor he has totally perfected his art and yes he can adapt to any role he takes on and pulls it off sad about his early struggles you can rather turn into your father or be the total opposite but he is a pretty strong willed person and I'm glad he chose the latter I have nothing but admiration for Garry and respect it takes alot to get clean yes people make mistakes but they own it and move on he is one of my favourite actors thanks Rumour 🧃 Juice❤️

01:28 This is wrong. The Sun quotes him as saying that but it's a misquote. In a 1997 interview with the Guardian, Oldman said certain things which happened in real life (though not between his father and mother) were far worse than anything in Nil by Mouth; the scene where the wife gets beaten up was taken from an event which happened in his family, only the man hit the woman with a steel-capped boot and tried to drown her. He said the character was only partially based on his father, with a bit of himself, a friend he knew at school and a former brother-in-law thrown in as well. An Oldman interview with GQ in 2012 says a British newspaper incorrectly said it was something his father did to his mother and the rumour has persisted despite Oldman clarifying that his father was an alcoholic but not abusive. I'm pretty sure he has said a former brother-in-law was abusive.

Yes this is untrue! There is stuff out there from Gary Oldman, I think The South Bank Show that will tell the truth about his father’s relationship with the family. A lot of Nil by Mouth is based on his sister’s relationships.

Just like the character "John 'Joe' Orton," that Oldman played in "Prick up your ears," they both went to RADA (Royal Academy of Dramatic Arts). And let's not forget when Oldman played Sid Vicious in Sid & Nancy?! Gary Oldman IS talent!

I have no idea what his life has been as I don't know him or his family. I nor anyone else love in his pocket so until you do, you can't make an accurate decision of what he is real like.

It's not the first time someone has made up abuse allegations to try to win a custody battle. Gulliver was 3 and says it never happened. I have some memories from that age. I believe him.

Актеры - люди творческие и эмоциональные. А тут такой непростой жизненный путь ...А тут такая высота. Голливуд. Жизнь на виду. Человек с детства видел разборки в семье,пьяного отца, который ушел ,оставив семью без денег. Актер сам говорил в одном из интервью ,что он "жалеет о своей откровенности при вопросах журналистов о его личной жизни,что надо было говорить ,что он просто не хочет обсуждать эту тему ". Сам актер пил много лет ( что и не скрывает) ,у него много браков и разводов. Срывался дома ,по- любому ,на женщин . А то ,что он в 90-ые и начало 2000-х часто был не в адеквате ,с похмелья и тд видно и по старым фото ,и по интервью ,и даже ,иногда, в кадре. Все его бывшие жены и женщины говорили в интервью ,что "он - прекрасный актер ,но жить с ним сложно". И это начиная с первой жены ,а потом с Умы Турман и тд . С одной из жен ,с которой он познакомился в клинике лечения от алкоголизма ( то есть у нее тоже была зависимость) они родили детей. В итоге,она его и обвинила в домашнем насилии,во время которого и сама ,по- любому, была не в адеквате . Там возможно они оба были хороши . Суть не в его личной жизни. Она никого не касается. И все мы не без греха. А тут такая высота!!! Такой талант!! Такая Звезда!! Человек дарит нам,зрителям ,свои эмоции, талант,свои прекрасные, постоянно разные яркие роли!!! Он - великий актер. Руки прочь от Гари Олдмана!!! :))) Наш любимый Scary crazy Gary.Он - бриллиант.

The son is right, custody is always granted to mothers. Women need to be in terrible state/ bad parenting for custody given to the man. Not to defend the actor but this is not the firts time, the ex wife was not given custody of her kid.

Actors are the healthiest people. But then if you talk to anyone often you will find something damaging in it . And many people are living in childhood traumas and maybe hoping to escape or get out of. I wish people would see the horrors children deal with growing up in parents unhealthy living. Buy often they say stuff happened to that person too . Not always some people are just assholes.
