Slow Horses is possibly the best show currently on any streaming service and Gary Oldman is amazing in it.

It’s going to be one of those shows that the masses discover in 5 years when it’s over. Like Breaking bad or True Detective season 1. And I’m happy with that, it means they keep it fresh and doesn’t become monotonous with 15 seasons and a Christmas special every year.

Great show. I binge watched three seasons in 3 days. But without Gary Oldman it'd be at least 50% less interesting to watch. Like watching House M.D. without Hugh Laurie. :) Hands down, one of the greatest of all time.

Gary Oldman's performance in the Dark Knight is the most underrated part of that movie. People forget it because it's not flashy and loud but he nails every single emotional beat. He's second only to Ledger in that film.
@samwallaceart28811 ай бұрын
For real. He's the perfect Jim Gordon. He doesn't do too much crazy, but his character feels so real and valuable. If Batman is the Frodo of that trilogy, then Gordon is the Samwise. He's one of those characters who totally flies under the radar but then you realize; _every single time_ the catastrophe was at its harshest, he's always right there next to Batman taking the Ls with the Ws, _every time._

He and Michael Caine were the two performances that kept the movies mostly grounded. They were the reason the movies had a veneer of believability about them.

I ran into Gary with the middle 2 at a fast food stop along the 5 in California and his sons were so well dressed and stylish, I had noticed them and how beautiful they were before Gary came out of the bathroom. What a beautiful family. I didn't have the heart to bother him but just delighted in his glow from two tables away.

Mr. Oldman's performance as Sirius Black was so nuanced, that in franchise blessed with many fine actors, his performance added a depth, pathos, and layering of experience, that became the franchise's grace note. In the Dark Knight he turned Commissioner Gordon whose characterizations rarely went beyond the stereotypical cop, into a real, vulnerable person conflicted with the extraordinary events he was experiencing. I am always excited to see his work, and look forward to his future projects.

Gary Oldman's movie he wrote and directed 'Nil By Mouth' is a masterpiece. It is unbelievable looking back how ahead of its time it was stylistically. Doing things with the camera and overlapping dialogue that is all over the Safdie brothers work... It also stars his sister, and features the c-word more than any other film in history..

Gary Oldman truly is an incredible actor and one of my favourites. He's also a shining example of why the UK needs to do better and letting in more working-class actors, rather than the privately educated ones who come from privileged backgrounds (with all due respect to them) since actors like Oldman have said that if they were to do it all over again today, they wouldn't stand a chance because of how 'expensive' it is just to survive whilst you're building a career.

The first interview I've EVER seen of Gary Oldman. I'm now extremely impressed with him as an actor since I find the real him completely unrecognizable from any of his roles. He isn't even remotely similar to his characters. Furthermore, if I just listened to his voice in this interview I wouldn't even know who it was. I had a similar experience with Christian Bale. The first time I saw him in an interview I was shocked to find out he was actually British. He had an American accent in all his roles I've seen, and did it so convincingly I always though he was American.

If you've never looked really, really, REALLY closely at Oldman's performances, you're missing out on the fact that beyond just being an exemplary actor, he's WAAAYYY more. The work he puts into what you do *not* see might be equivalent to what you do. I only wish that actors such as he and others like him weren't left hanging in the wind by corporate clowns, rich CEOs, greedy production executives, and other megalomaniacal narcissists.

When Gary quits acting, a legend of the film industry will have gone with the greatest performances ever, and if I could highlight a Gary's performance, it would be definitively his Norman Stanfield's character in Leon The Professional where he became the movie's star despite the fact he was the supporting actor. Besides, the reason why he became the real star in that movie because of his famous scene in which he says EVERYONE.
