10,000% The back half of Mr. Morale sets you up for that Mother I Sober-> Mirror combo (which fkd me up sooooo bad the first time I heard it) and leaves you floored. I think it will be, in time, viewed as one of the best albums of all time. Forever Story, though... I can't tell you how many consecutive days I've listened to at least a couple of tracks off it since it dropped, but it still hasn't stopped. Even to this day, you can still hear it all over atl

Where you fall on this poll is going to depend on what kind of listening experience you want. If you're someone that just wants to put on an album and have an "enjoyable" listening experience IE you want some dopamine going, you're going to put on TFS. If you want a challenging experience that gives you a lot to think about and chew on, but you're okay with having emotions such as sadness and maybe even some discomfort, you pick Mr Morale. Mr Morale is just a deeper album and sonically it's more challenging, so I like it more, but TFS is an easier listen, so more people are going to like it and that's completely understandable.

@@six7264 respectful, respectful, tbh atm I’m rocking with both especially with silent hill mainly as it is an easy listen. I found that with Kendrick’s new album it’s almost a hard listen as it is such an emotional piece that I can’t really vibe with it as much as the forever story which is a way more forgiving album with easy listening experience but also great flow, pen game and production. Just thought I would add too that.

I’m gonna have to disagree with the poll here. I feel like as if the forever story is only praised so much because it is praised so much, people think saying this album the “normies” don’t know about is great makes them feel like they belong. MM&TBS goes deeper into Kendrick’s psyche achieving his fame and his struggles with it as well. I think people are choosing TFS over MMATBS cuz they just don’t understand what MMATBS is about. Both are introspective albums, but TFS is at the base level where already heard everything. So we can enjoy it for what it is immediately. But MMATBS is higher than that and it is talking about things that some just don’t know about. Both albums will stand the test of time, I feel it could've been an uncomfortable listen for most listeners of "Mr. Morale" because of how deep we were taken into Kendrick's psyche, while "The Forever Story" is more digestible to the listener's ear. Both are INCREDIBLE, TOP-TEIR albums, but JID's album just has more replay value overall, Kendrick's album is deep, and a dark, awkward, uncomfortable, but beautiful piece of art, but it's hard to get all the way through it without feeling like you're sneaking to listen to a private therapy session. @@swerve-experience not my point. I loved the Kendrick album and I think as a rap album the forever story is better, but MMATBS is the most extraordinary piece of art we’ve seen in a long time. I think it will be looked at more fondly in time to come. My main point was that just because an album wins a Grammy doesn’t mean it’s automatically better than anything else. JID didn’t submit his album for consideration so it’s not even a just comparison to say Kendrick is better for winning RAOTY. MMATBS is insane though, grew on me more after seeing him live.

@@HazelAmarie Cap, do I even gotta give a reason. While I love both of them, Kendrick Lamar has achieved way higher levels of success and is known to be one of the most influential rappers. However I do believe JID will surpass Kendrick soon, as Kendrick's absence makes me feel like he might retire. And everybody surpasses everyone. Although what Kendrick has achieved is far greater than what JID has yet. Kendrick's lyricism was so great that he won a Pulitzer Prize for music, being the very first rap artist to even get one. I don't think a lot of people would be able to top what Kendrick has put in, at least not for a while. And I'm not gonna state the Grammy amount cuz pretty sure we all know how picky the Grammys are, and JID definitely deserved at least a nomination for TFS.
