I dont think its declined its a lovely friendly vibrant town with lovely shops. Decline is torquay bill its shocking how bad it is. And my hometown of paignton is not far behind. That is why i drive over to teignmouth. Teignmouth gets a thumbs 👍 from me bill

@andybyrne50 hello andy yes it's still there I rarely go into town these days. Paignton has bad vibes the traffic wardens are on you if you can find somewhere to park that is. All the empty shops. Torquay is far worse it's completely dead. Marina area not included

@andybyrne50 do you remeber harbour sports when it was in paignton harbour. I knew the family who owned it I went to school with their kids. Andy if you ever need any outdoor clothing or boots etc my friend owns the camouflage shop in preston paignton say you met kieran on bills channel I'm sure he will help you out. His name is steve. Everywhere is detreating the same, I noticed a couple of years back the telescope in front of the Ness Hotel was removed😾. I'd still prefer to live in Teignmouth😻. Sounds good for Mum, great😽. 😺

If it’s the place near the airport then she is in very good hands. Hubby had both his eyes done there. The staff are great. Also if they are still doing their mini bus pickup and return that is great too.

@cannyexplorer5357 my father went to spa medica they are brilliant. I don't know if they have tea and cofee facilities now. But when I went a few years back the nearest place was the airport so a walk and a expensive cup of tea but at least I saw the planes. 2cnd time packed lunch and a flask of tea deployed as its a few hours wait.

Exeter eye unit is fabulous Bill , they looked after me well in the summer & Bill opticians are very good, your mum was in good hands. Yes , things aren’t the same, but it’s still the place millions want to come to and I like you am always happy to wake up to the sea .

Hi Bill, yes it’s a sad fact I think alot towns are on the decline. Where I live in the midlands what was once a lively market town with lovely shops is now virtually deserted. They call it progress 😢. You are very lucky you live in the best part of the uk, I just love Devon always have and when I fully retire that’s where I would want to be with my 2 Devon Rex cats 😻😻🥰. Good news for your mum glad to hear only a short waiting list.😊

Enjoyed that Bill, cheers and although I cant comment on the decline of Teignmouth, perhaps Tiny and Rocco (in the tent) offer a different solution in that If your environment isnt how you think it should be, or is missing something do something to change that, get people involved and make it different. Tiny was so inspiring to talk to, and had nothing materially, but masses of good intention, application and love. The people of Teignmouth seem very able and willing to make things happen, from what I've seen, which is inspiring and very different to anywhere i've been before. Its part of the reason I love living here :)

@@BillsPhoneTeignmouth Bill gotta say the decline of Teignmouth is minimal compared to other areas. We have holidayed there for over 50 years and nothing will deter us from visiting as often as possible. Keep up the excellent work with the videos.

Hi Bill, Teignmouth may have declined a bit over the last 5 years but it's a relative decline compared to say the big cities. I think the biggest decline you touched and it's the pier in my opinion. It should be the focus of the seafront but it just looks tired now. Mind you I would move to Teignmouth in a heartbeat if I could but not really adoption currently. See you tomorrow mate. 👍👍👍

Yes, it is a relative decline - Being aware of many viewers who would love to live here, made it hard to say what I said, but I felt I needed to say it - Yes, the Pier is indeed one of the worst.... Funny how its owned by one of the richest family's in Teignmouth though.... 🤔🤔🤔

No idea about what they actually do on the docks these days - They make such a ridiculous fuss if you so much as point a camera at the docks, that I have really lost interest in them... They want to remain all secretive like they are doing super-duper special top secret work, I just think I'll let them get on with it 😂 👍

that sounds good news for your mam, good walk on the sea wall and that crossover that toot was very nice. my town is rubbish too its worse then yours nothing there just a asda but there is another shopping place called parc trostre thats where the shops are now just a few miles up. when we was in teignmouth this year my mam said teignmouth dosnot have many shops now there used to be 1 good one
