Thank you for the follow up! Great info here, I think I will have to try these out for something non critical like a full speaker. One suggestion for future videos: Record from the mix/line out of the speaker when doing a test like you did to see how it sounds when cutting out. That way we don’t hear anything else but exactly what is coming out of the speaker. Just an improvement for next time. Thanks again, very useful info 🙏

@@DJ-Coma thanks man! Definitely worth trying out with these features built in and if you buy on Amazon, can always send them back too. That’s a great idea man thanks for the suggestion! Unfortunately my model of the LD Maui 5 is an older one and doesn’t have a mix out, but that’s a good reason to use one of my other speakers for the test in the future!

I just received a set this week and I'm really impressed with the sound quality. Distance doesn't concern me as I use them for my mic. My main complaint would be noise/hiss .. these have none! I've tried and sent back a few in this price range because of that. I plug into a mixer so there is no concern with the receiver design. If I were using them to connect to speakers, I'd just buy a pair of 3" XLR extensions to make the connection, less than $8 on Amazon.

3:52 I use the Xvives and use the cable for better line of sight by using a command strip and sticking it behind the column speaker.
@MrMaui3810 күн бұрын
Thanks for watching! That’s great to know that even without a design issue, you use the cable anyways for better signal. Seems like doing that is the best move and it negates the design flaw too!

Nice update on this bro and glad to hear that it actually does have an auto scan. Although it looks to be a bit tricky to sync them still a nice feature implemented on a budget friendly item.

@@lasrocasent thanks broo!! Exactly even with those flaws, auto scan and low price makes it a real good option now for sure vs the competition. If it was xvive pricing I don’t think I could, but at its price I may end up keeping them!

@@MrMaui38 Using the adapter definitely adds a plus as the line of site gets better and we can avoid cuts. I might just get an extender for my xvive. I don't really need it but it's better to have and not need it then need it and not have it.

@@lasrocasent true dude that exactly what someone else commented that they use the cable for their xvive anyways for the extra range! So I guess Phenyx pro is smart they forcing you to use it and so you get extra range for free haha 😂

I did know about the auto scan feature even before I watched your last video because I saw another KZbinr discussing it on his channel. I also had thought about using it with an XLR cable to get around the design flaw. Yep, there are always workarounds for sure. 🙂

@@DJ2Legit007 there always are! I didn’t want to be forced to use a cable, since so many other of the competitors didn’t need one, but now with auto scan that really makes this one the only of its kind at this price (for now)! The review you saw was probably the same one I saw - Scott Uhls review which is where the only place I think it was mentioned! So also shoutout to his review who mentioned the auto scan first! I still can’t believe Phenyx Pro hadn’t mentioned it anywhere, but either way I’m glad they added the feature cuz it’s huge! They’re already sold out and now will probably sell out again 😂

@@Baxter2005 yes 100%!! And using the cable to overcome the design also allows you to move the receiver around, so it’s kind of a blessing in disguise! I guess Phenyx pro made that design to force us to use the cable and get better signal 😂

@@varok011 Thanks for watching both videos! I don’t have the tools at home or a dremel but if I did I would just cut them off! Using a cable also does help a bit with the signal, since I can orient the receiver more towards the transmitter, so I may just do that anyways going forward.

The reason these work well is because you are in your house and there are no other frequencies interfering with the selected frequency ... In my experience (here is busy south florida) when you try it with a room full of people like a ceremony and or party you will get interference... I don't recommend the PTU-X... when they do have signal loss there are large noise that comes out of the speaker.. This has happened in 3 locations and gave up... I used the Xvive and they had no issues with reception i the same room.... spend the money and get a better unit... these UHF units are not true diversity and they lose signal and the noise is embarrassing.

thanks for watching! I was trying it sideways in the first video, but didn’t have much more success.
