Thanks for watching! That’s great to know that even without a design issue, you use the cable anyways for better signal. Seems like doing that is the best move and it negates the design flaw too!

I just received a set this week and I'm really impressed with the sound quality. Distance doesn't concern me as I use them for my mic. My main complaint would be noise/hiss .. these have none! I've tried and sent back a few in this price range because of that. I plug into a mixer so there is no concern with the receiver design. If I were using them to connect to speakers, I'd just buy a pair of 3" XLR extensions to make the connection, less than $8 on Amazon.

Thank you for the follow up! Great info here, I think I will have to try these out for something non critical like a full speaker. One suggestion for future videos: Record from the mix/line out of the speaker when doing a test like you did to see how it sounds when cutting out. That way we don’t hear anything else but exactly what is coming out of the speaker. Just an improvement for next time. Thanks again, very useful info 🙏

I did know about the auto scan feature even before I watched your last video because I saw another KZbinr discussing it on his channel. I also had thought about using it with an XLR cable to get around the design flaw. Yep, there are always workarounds for sure. 🙂

@@DJ2Legit007 there always are! I didn’t want to be forced to use a cable, since so many other of the competitors didn’t need one, but now with auto scan that really makes this one the only of its kind at this price (for now)! That is how I was thinking on using them anyways, since my DJ controller has 2 mic inputs and if you put it in a table to play a set your mics are in the back of the controller, then you have your facade so line of sight is interrupted (not sure it wouldn't work but why risk it?) so I have 2 short xlr/xlr cables in the back of the controller and just put the receivers on higher for a better line of sight, great stuff! thanks! nice videos keep them coming! Hi from Utah

@@turadiolatinamix Thanks for watching! Yes that’s definitely a great way to get more signal and clearer line of sight regardless of the design issue on the units! The reason these work well is because you are in your house and there are no other frequencies interfering with the selected frequency ... In my experience (here is busy south florida) when you try it with a room full of people like a ceremony and or party you will get interference... I don't recommend the PTU-X... when they do have signal loss there are large noise that comes out of the speaker.. This has happened in 3 locations and gave up... I used the Xvive and they had no issues with reception i the same room.... spend the money and get a better unit... these UHF units are not true diversity and they lose signal and the noise is embarrassing.

Here is my video review of Kimafun KM-U208A vs Phenyx Pro PTU-X, clearly showing a hiss from the PTU-X whilst the KM-U208 is silent. The Kimafun has been flawless, but the review you did showing the channel scan and longer battery life drew me in. I have 2 Kimafun sets and have used them in multiple venues as speaker relays and wireless mic adapters. Sadly the PTU-X hasnt lived up to the hype and mine has a -40 dB hiss as soon as I switch them on. Phenyx support are not bothered.
