TRD "Toyota Racing Development" is a huge failure. Camry is an excellent mid-size sedan. The best of the 8th generation Camry's is the facelift/refresh from 2021 through 2024. The best of the best is the Camry XSE V6 fully loaded with all the amenities. The best reliable Camry year is 2017, the last year of the 7th generation, as it has the fewest complaints reported on record. The Camry is no longer sold in UK or Japan due to low sales figures. In the U.S., the Camry has been seeing a rapid decline or deterioration in sales from previous years. So far, 2023 has been one of the lowest sales years in Camry's history with below 150,000 units sold compared to over 300,000 to 400,000 Camry's being sold in the U.S. each year prior to 2018. Don't let that discourage you from buying a Camry. It is still a terrific sedan, especially the one with a V6 engine. Furthermore, 2025 could be a huge upset year for the Toyota Camry with the removal of the XLE V6 and XSE V6 trims handing the reigns to the Honda Accord. Think it will be time to enter the Acura or Lexus side in 2025. I own and drive a 2023 Camry XSE V6 fully loaded. I was trying to find a 2022 Honda Accord 2.0T Touring but they were located in other states and dealers refused to sell to individuals with out-of-state residency. Therefore, purchased my 2023 Camry XSE V6 and the truth is very happy I did. The reasons, compared to the Accord the Camry has less cabin noise, and the other is Honda's annoying and aggravating Idle-Stop, next is Honda Sensing in which it lacks functionality and rarely works as Toyota's Safety Sense is more reliable and dependable. That would make the Honda Accord my 2nd or 3rd choice of vehicle. My wife has a 2022 Honda Civic Touring which helps in comparison or for my criticism of the Accord.

Great insight! And I agree, the TRD doesn't add much to the Camry. If they really want to get people excited, then maybe a GR Camry as a swan song to this generation. I know that won't happen because if the GR Corolla costs up to $40k USD, then a hypothetical GR Camry would be within spitting distance of $60k....that's base BMW M340i and MB C43 money.
