Hasan isnt streaming 9 hours a day because he is worried he will lose money. Hes a socialist who doesnt pay his employees. He has money. Hasan streams 9 hours a day becuase he is worried about losing relevance. Sure money is a component but he has generational wealth, he is in a postion where he isnt worrying about money (never has apparently - nice horse he had hopefully he wasnt childhood friends with vaush) his rampant narcissim is allowed to take centre stage because of his privileged postion and he is doing everything he possibly can to stay relevant. Every second he isnt streaming or tweeting or getting his name out there is a second closer to nobody caring about him going live or what his political takes are and he is going to crash and burn hard when that day comes. All of these content creators who spend all day smelling their own farts in their echo chambers with there child audience who dont know any better spamming W because they dont have the attention span to type words with more than one syllable will. (The clip about jobs was taken out of context tho but the fact regular workers doing regular jobs cant just ban customers or their boss in chat because they are mean to them or show up late to their shift because they just felt like it just shows the argument is not really comparable in the general landscape of the average person doing any job in any field)
@SuzakuX10 ай бұрын
His dad got rich and then lost everything by the time Hasan was 18 by investing in futures. It still bought Hasan a good college education, and his familial connection with Cenk helped him get a job at TYT when he was young (his first job was working on a ranch, though). He started at TYT in sales (selling ad time), then did behind the scenes production, then became an on-screen personality. After that he quit and started streaming full time, and then popped off during the 2016 election cycle. This is all shit I know from actually just casually watching his stuff over the years. Hasan frequently talks about how privileged he is, he hasn't tried to hide his fortunate upbringing. He pays his "employees" and gives them all the revenue from his YT channel. His podcast also splits its revenue equally between himself and his producer (Marche). At the end of the day he still speaks to power, still advances class consciousness, still advocates for socialist positions. Advocates for himself to pay higher taxes. So what if he's out of touch? So what if he's independently wealthy? I don't get why people talk about that being hypocritical. Should anyone who succeeds under a capitalist organization of the economy denounce socialism or something? Should they just advocate for capitalism? Fucking stupid sentiment to have. I've said it before and I'll say it again, I'll take a thousand "champagne socialists" over one right wing charlatan. What's the worst that will come of Hasan? He'll onramp some normies to the left, make a few bucks, and pay higher taxes if the stuff he's advocating for ever happens. It's not worth being upset about, not when there are people with way bigger platforms making way more money selling way worse policies to way dumber audiences.
