This my humble opinion regarding the plastic-free packaging initiative from Hasbro, and some of my suggestion for the Vintage Collection line. #hasbro #starwars #thevintagecollection #tvc

in the old kenner days there was no inner protective bubble, the figure would just sit in there, it couldn't move a lot becauce the outer plastic was much flatter. Reintroducing the "real" Kenner look you could do just that. no need for an inner bubble and the outer can be slimmer.

Took the words right out of my mouth. I was gonna say that too. With the 3.75 scale it's all about having a beautiful cardback. Once the plastic is removed it's not a cardback any longer. I don't think there is any way to compromise, either Hasbro switches to boxes like with the Tatooine Boba Deluxe, or we continue with cardbacks, but cardbacks got to have a bubble.

Yeah, I think the reduction of the bubble depth would probably be the best idea. If they take away the bubble completely, they can't call it the vintage collection anymore.

Yeah definitely m. Can go full on vintage and go for the shallower bubble 👍

@@ka-bashedfigures834 honestly, that would really be the best option. I collect some VC and I opened them, but put them back on card cause they look so damn good. Hasbro better listen to us. Lol.

It could be mostly cardboard with a figure size plastic window and the figure tied down the figure and accessories to the cardboard back so you use only a small about of plastic for the window and the collectors can still see the figure inside win win I reckon

They don’t make enough figures for the plastic bubble to be a problem, and In box collectors , the plastic won’t be in the thrash . I cut the bubble and save the card , lol I’m that guy 😂

I can totally understand. Those images are gorgeous. I usually save the instruction manuals for the model kits that I have completed. (My friend knows the Japanese artist who painted all the Bandai Gunpla and Star Wars kit images and it’s a real trip meeting him).

Just tape the accessories onto the single bubble.

Yeah I agree but I would save the cardback and throw away the plastic so yeah they should definatyl reduce the plastic they use

😂 amazing “what I do like about this is…POP!!……maybe I don’t like it! “ 🤣 Great video As per usual man, I share a similar opinion to you in that I’m all for saving the planet but they’re must be a way to not have to loose the ability to see the figure. I was wandering about using different materials maybe? I don’t know how long some of the plant based plastic alternatives last, if they were in a star case would it prevent them from rotting etc… I like what you came up with, could even reduce the outer bubble so the figure sits closer to the card? Does it need to be floating so far off? The reactions figures work ok just loose in the blister with a shallower bubble. And the original Kenner figures were not set in a tray.

Good suggestions Tim! As for alternative material my friend I invested in a company who discovered dissolvable plastic made of glucose. It essentially dissolved into water that you can later drink. Supposedly you can set various temperature at which water dissolves it, but I tested it and still pretty inconsistent. When hit with moisture it gets super sticky and deteriorates.

@@ka-bashedfigures834 that sounds amazing, it’s great to know there are these product being developed, even if not quite there yet, some of the shopping bags you get in supermarkets over In The uk are compostable now, hopefully someone comes up with a viable and affordable option soon. Love the idea of it designing to a drinkable liquid too. Was that being developed in HK?

All Hasbro would need too do is eliminate the inner plastic and attach the figure & accessories to a piece of cardboard that can be slid out of the box.
@ka-bashedfigures8342 жыл бұрын
That’s actually a very good suggestion. Basically a solid color cardboard to emulate the color block they have now right?

Make it out of recyclable plastic. But no matter what it is made of there will be waste. It is the mentality of the society. The figures are made of plastic. I like TVC just the way it is. If it goes to a box where I cannot see anything then it is not worth getting anymore. Nothing wrong with decreasing bubble depth.
