Not shilling for Hb but this issue is not only isolated to TFs. The difference is, other JP toys, which are more expensive and breaks withing the month of purchase or years after are isolated to those who can only afford them and don't go to TF forums to complain about it.

I missed when deluxes cost 10 bucks and where so good, but still some of hasbro's figures are still bangers but one thing I hate is for prowl, smokescreen, and bluestreak they made the dam knees out of translucent plastic which is notoriously known for becoming britial

@@robertj.3383 Yup. Typical trademark stuff forced Hasbro to rename him Silverstreak for quite some time. (Takara never had that problem, as prior to the brand unification, he was simply called Streak) I have heard about both Hasbro & Takara versions of the Classics Datsuns having an issue where the paint on the doors could warm up and melt off with handling...even years later, but not the doors breaking off.

All is not lost on your bluestreak my friend. The clear plastic roof can be superglued to the red part because its not depended on hinge of the actual plastic for transformation. As far as skywarp (or any of the other seeker wings) the problem is there is extra plastic flash inside the wing. If you file the inside on the wing just a bit with a knife or blade if some sort, that should fix that problem. Hope this helps.

Double Dealer has a mushroom peg system on the knee that has a little plastic nub that is supposed to close off the mushroom peg from popping off, but the only thing it does is prevent you from fixing it. I had to sand off the nub on top of the mushroom peg with 60 grit sand paper for 2 continuous hours. DO NOT rotate the thighs without bending the thighs out at an angle.

If you get bluestreak, just pose him, his back broke on me after the 3rd time I transformed him, and I’m not rough with my transformers, they used weak clear plastic for a rough joint 😭

Yeah, I’ve got no idea what’s happening over at hasbro, last week I ordered a Siege Optimus prime and upon receiving it, I found several issues such as excess plastic from the molding on the head, some parts won’t snap in for the transformation on the right leg and 3 out of the 6 wheels won’t even roll without getting stuck. I don’t know what’s happening over there but they better fix this.

Our Walgreens also is bad at stocking toys. Target is okay sometimes. Two Targets within 4 miles of each other, but the superstore never has stock, unless it's shelf warmers. The Wal Mart never has stock. They did have a 35th year Hot Rod last year, but that's it. It's about 5 miles from here.

My question is why would Hasbro/Takara even care about QC issues when their current lines are flying off the shelf at over priced retail consumer gouging as it is? They, like any corporate entity, has the who cares about the product when our profit margin is getting wider and wider? As long as people buy their product, and there is a healthy secondary market, while also creating FOMO and limited editions for certain stores, they will be laughing at your expense all the way to the banks. They view the end consumer as nothing more than CHUMPS who will buy whatever product they push. Until the cash spigot slows down, the QC issues will continue as that is part of their business model. Just look at their Masterpiece Line, keep creating the same characters over and over, and they almost all have QC issues at a price gouging point. If they wont fix their "HIGH" end toys, they definitely wont be fixing their entry level stuff.

Sadly I think the way online buying goes is what encourages this behavior, impulse buying, scalpers and the "geek is cool now" crowd letting them get away with lower QC. Though I will give them the benefit of the doubt in ER's case because of the pandemic. If the same issues persist in kingdom and beyond though then yeah nah they're getting lazy.

I'm glad you posted about this, I just got my Smokescreen, so now I know what to be careful with of when dealing with him. I haven't had any trouble from my Doubledealer, however I have been careful when dealing with the legs as to avoid any complications. Just got Arcee Friday, looks great in both modes, but transforming her is a bit of a pain though.

I... Sadly have to agree. Another thing they need to stop is to stop using Translucent Plasic for joints. My Nightbird had front-panels (one that hides her feet) nubs snapped, so her vehicle form looks a bit missing now. Along with real loose legs. While I enjoy mold of my Exhaust, his arms a bit loose to wield any combiner... My Siege Barricade meanwhile cannot stay standing; His one knee was so loose. I tried to tighten it, and plastic cracked... Luckily managed to fix it.

They also need to stop using pin joints where ratchet joints should be, especially in the legs and shoulders. A brand new toy shouldn't be as loose and floppy as a thirty year old toy that's been stored in a hot attic.

Same!! Siege Barricade and bluestreak’s leg joints were really tight when I got them in February. The knees got progressively looser over time. Until I tried to do a stop motion on bluestreak. The translucent plastic on the knee chipped off. My siege prowl was also a victim to loose knee joints.

My wife commented how cheap arcee looks after I got mine. I do feel the quality of the earthrise figures has declined. The availability of these figures have been awful. Walgreens has nothing, target is a barren wasteland and wal mart still is sitting on figures that don’t move. The aisles shrink but have nothing in them. I am not sure what Hasbro wants to do except sell stuff on haslab. Talk about a toy company who is off the rails and realize build it better and make it available could do more business than serve the scalpers. Just saying.

The pandemic has most likely impacted their ability to maintain quality control and manufacture the quantities they'd normally be able to. Less shipping lanes means more expense shipping figures, so they made a bunch of them exclusives to offset that cost, unfortunately scalpers take advantage of this with retail sites having no bot protection, making exclusives a net bad for actual customers. They should have just postponed Earthrise if they were going to be so rare and half the line made exclusives, BUMBLEBEE WAS MADE AN EXCLUSIVE THAT IS NOT RIGHT. Big hunch going around bumblebee, prowl, ironhide, the other racer decepticon was supposed to be its own retail wave, but broken up for exclusives instead, and ER Soundwave and Thrust the last Voyagers, but are Walmart and Target Exclusives respectively. initial listing leaks saying they were mass release but now they're not really suggests this claim.

What infuriates me more about the quality control issues with the Earthrise figures is how many of them are exclusives. I actually made a meme about how many Transformers Earthrise figures were exclusives and in a comment I included some research. I’ll leave a link to the post later in a reply to this comment, but here’s what I found out: Out of a total 62 figures in the Earthrise toy line, 25 figures are exclusives! Which means that 40.32% (rounded to 2 decimal places) of the line are exclusives! Seriously Hasbro?! You’re going to make pretty much 4 out of every 10 figures an exclusive, meaning that many of us will struggle to get it due to things like scalpers, AND they still can’t be bothered to do proper QC with their figures?! What an absolute joke! Let’s just hope that the Kingdom and Studio Series 86 figures don’t have these issues.

Siege ratchet and sky warp were both exclusive and in Earthrise ratchet is in an exclusive 2 pack and the same with skywarp 2 times in a row where 2 main characters are exclusive. Why make the main characters exclusive? What generations selects does is good due to its exclusive repaint of side or less noticeable characters like greasepit, sandstorm, G2 megatron, diaclone versions, etc there good figures yes but not main characters for a show accurate display. Hasbro these figures get scalped and resold for double or triple the price please reduce the exclusive it’s annoying for fans/collectors

My issue is with the Siege Springer. Once I got him in his vehicle mode, he's very tight in that mode. If I were to turn him back into his robot mode he might break. So fearing that he will break I left him in his vehicle mode. That is one heck of a quality control.

Honestly I agree. Most of Hasbros products as of late -while some are looking absolutely AMAZING, it’s sacrificing how good the toy is when it comes to the plastic used. Sure some of them look good, but they could end up breaking WAY, WAY to easily.

I agree with the QC. It seems since Hasbro changed their factories to Vietnam, everything is coming with more QC issues! I still don´t have the Arcee mold, I am waiting for my Elita, and the paradon medics, I don´t see any way to fix that Blue Streak. I don´t know any to fix that. Nightbird is the queen of Floppiness, but her underware does not pop as much on mine. I also own Skywarp, and I still have the same issue with him and Starscream, but your Copy has the same issue but doubled. Maybe using Pledge? Like fixing the balljoints?

I guess with Bluestreak, Hasbro took the G1 accuracy way too literally, since the windshield breaking was also something that plagued the original Datsun trio. Arcee from what I've heard seems like the tabbing issues vary from copy to copy. Some are fine, others have the friggin' tabbing issue. But yeah, I understand how you feel. It's tough enough when the prices of the toys rise, but when they come with these flaws... unforgivable.

Yeah this (along with the over saturation of high price exclusives) killed it for me. I sold every siege/earthrise figure I owned back in august. I won't support something like this. Studio Series seems to be alright and third party us great as always. But its' gotten so bad that it's a dice roll for a TOY. That's just nuts to me.

I have never had problems with clear plastic hinges. It would have to be the type of clear plastic they must be using. I still have a Cybertron Era toy or two that has clear plastic hinges that are still working just fine.

There's been issues with the SS Blitzwing too. One such issue is manufacturing error in a panel on the left arm. When you transform it to jet mode, that panel wasn't molded properly so the panel can not be put into the wing so you have this huge section hanging off under the wing

I definitely agree with you, especially with their GI Joe Classified Series. My Snake Eyes has a VERY loose ab crunch. Its very frustrating to pay increased prices for decreased quality. I wish I could help but I don't own any of these molds yet. Best of luck!

I recently was transforming my Titans Return WeirdWolf, and the rubber-ish plastic that acts as the door to the compartment just snapped. So now the only thing keeping the door there is the red transparent plastic but somehow, the rubber-ish yellow plastic, is peeling off the red clear plastic?

Both my prowl and red alert have leg and knee joint ..floppyness, so I can't do any poses without them falling over, cog has the same issues with one knee, but i ussually have him as weapons, but still loose hinge joints , especially knee joints, made these toys lose stability, they can't have back weapons without falling over. I'm not sure if hasbro had quality control.

if the windshield is tabbed onto the red piece, why don't you get rid of the joint part (cut it off or something) and glue the windshield to the red piece? (I don't own this figure yet, so please tell me if this is do able or not)

I had this happen to a G1 Bluestreak. Couldn't replace him till the Anniversary editions were released. I do have Earthrise Smokescreen so I'm going to be extra careful with him. Thanks for the warnings. Thankfully, I've had no problems with the other figures you mentioned.

I had a problem with my Titans Return Six Shot. His leg wouldn't click in properly. When I opened it up the knee joint pin was misaligned. Luckily the correct hole was there and I re-slotted the pin. But why would they have two holes? After the fix transformation worked great.

Hey Rodimus. I have the exact same QC problem with my copy of Arcee. Not being able to properly transform her really sucks, and as you mentioned, the transformation itself is not that intuitive. But I agree, that aside, the robot mode looks great. Can't wait for the Ratchet + Lifeline 2 pack to come in the mail next month.

My side swipe at the same plate problem as nightbird on the crotch piece every time I go to close it it falls off. I had just remodeled my bedroom and I have put all my figures into a box and once I got them out the plate has now disappeared.

All this can be solved with superglue or plastic cement depending on your approach, but yeah we shouldn't have to fix manufactured items straight from the box

WOW! I just saw your video and I have to say that I am not too surprised. I have noticed some issue of pieces coming off of Starscream and Wheeljack. Certain quick fixes will help. (e.g. putting some clear nail polish on the port or post.) However, the issue that you had experienced, replacement is the only option. If I may make a suggestion, contact Hasbro. When I received an order I had made, a few days later, I received an email with a link to a survey from Hasbro. I put in my “two cents” and sent them a link to my KZbin review. Although, I have, yet, to receive a response. I am sure that I am not the first person to complain about the QC issues with the current run of Transformers figures.

i feel bad for any kids who go out of their way to either save up or beg their parents for a new toy only for it to break because of a design oversight or a QC issue, hasbro and other toy companies need to be more aware of this and understand that its things like this that drive collectors to third party

Okay so to "fix" the "loose wing" problem on Skywarp, you can get some hot glue and put a very small amount on the tab and put the wing back on the tab and start moving the wing around until the glue dries. Sadly you may have to keep doing this process until the wing is either tight or it is to your liking of tightness. I hope this helps you Rodimus and any others who have the same problem

Yea here is something the gundam community uses for loose joints. Get a bit of clearcoat and put it in the area in question, let it dry, then put the piece in, if it doesn't fit sand it down a little, fine tune it till it's nice and tight

That's frustrating...I think everyone knows that feeling. I must've been pretty lucky with CQ so far as I haven't had any problem with any of these figures...minus double dealer and smokescreen which I don't have. The only real issues I've had with my siege/earthrise figures were siege starscream's chest and siege hound's foot. I'm wondering if this might be in part to the disruption from covid. I've got pretty early releases of a lot of these figures...maybe some of the later examples are getting more slapped dashed because they're in a manufacturing crunch to catch up.

The broken joint on Bluestreak can be somewhat fixed if you add some super glue to increase the friction when you wedge the hood of the car mode back in. The glue they use for fake nails is something I have used to fix a couple of figures. It dries in about 60 seconds, but you have to keep moving the joint.

In order of complexity and potential cost, those things can be fixed. For the record... I do not work for any magnet company, I just build alot of warhammer models [including turning a Seige Fortress Maximus into an Emperor Titan that sits down into a fortress. With blue streak you should be able to fix the joint with super glue. Just find brush-type [or plastic magic if you do model kits] With Skywarp, you might be able to get the peg to sit better by gently filing any mold lines or flash from the collar of the wing-pin that should allow the flaring at the tip lock into its inner ring. If depth isn't the problem, you can put a layer or 2 of superglue on the pin tho thicken it, just wait til it is dry before you pop the wing on With Arcee you might also be able to trim that peg that won't fit into its socket [or the socket, whichever has more mold flashing]. If they don't need to release during transformation, you can put a dab of the superglue used for blue streak. For nightbird and other molds with the rock concert panties issue [they go flying] if it has to come off for transformation, magnets. You should be able to find modeling magnets around the size of transformation pegs at model stores or online. Army painter has a set of 20 5mm x 1mm and 50 3mm x 1mm for under 10 bucks. that's enough to magnetize 25 crotches, small guns or other light parts you might want to rotate in posing, it will also allow 10 heavier parts like main guns, shields and mini-cons / headmasters to attach more securely. On the Magnet front [assuming there isn't just a jeweler's screw in the elbow joint] Double dealer [and other weak jointed transformers] can have his elbow reinforced / replaced with larger magnets

Idk how many times I have returned a figure for a serious flaw... First was hoist, his double knee thing was stupidly loose, and could not stand up Then was a 35th anniversary megatron, his heel would fall off without touching him and he could not stand, and could not take effect parts Then ER prime, and cog, which I kept but fixed, had a paneling problem and port problem... I feel jipped out of several awesome toys, and I believe Hasbro needs, they NEED to fix some QC issues...

Sucks to know that other people are having so many problems with this line. I feel like I've had very good luck in terms of the WfC line (which is mainly the only line I collect anyways); no breaking at all and very rarely any issues that other people aren't also having. I'm generally very tolerable of wave-wide issues, since the large majority of them can be ignored or aren't anything beyond fixing (besides Siege Starscream's plate), and it genuinely scares me a little that new members might just collapse on me or simply refuse to work properly.

I got Smokscreen yesterday and I have the Walmart exclusive Bluestreak but no prowl..ANYWAYS As I was taking Somkescreen out of his package I noticed his gun was bent.So I do as I often do a little push to see if is rubbery as I went to softly now push it the gun snapped in half.I ay glue it..Plus I now leave all my transformers in there robot modes and I don't transform them anymore.Tell me something that Bluestreak can he still transform onto robot mode I assume?

He can still transform into robot mode. I'm looking into gluing the windshield and that should work for your Smokescreen gun. I like transforming them though.

My Arcee has issues with the other side of the car. The panel where the springloaded lock is to detach the backpack doesn't really sit flush with the rest of the car, so there's this big gap between plastic and the switch itself feels wiggly. Strangely, this doesn't seem to affect the car mode's balance, as all 4 wheels touch the ground fine, despite the part clearly not fitting.

My Skywarp's wing isn't THAT loose, but it does pop off during Transformation. Almost every time without fail. Same wing as Rodimus Primal's too, but mine stays on firmly in robot mode. The outer edge of the peg the wing sits on has a lip that keeps the wing in place unless pressure is applied. It doesn't take much pressure, as I said transformation is enough to pop it on mine, but it works well enough in any other circumstance. I was looking for that lip on the peg to Rodimus Primal's Skywarp, and I couldn't see it at all.

I literally just had the same wing issues that I resolved today by clipping a portion off of the inner wing section circle that is not removed during production, compare it to the other side see the difference. I used a clipper to remove the excess, than bam, it worked. Clipped right in. Hope this helps

I had a similar problem with Wheeljack's windshield fragments that you did with Skywarp's wing. One broke and the other is so loose I can't transform it without it falling off. I have DoubleDealer and have similar issues.

Only issue I have with Siege/Earthrise/Kingdom is the Variant Optimus Prime with his chest not sitting flush in robot mode.

The biggest problem is everything is exclusive now. Just imagine if Siege Skywarp were to have a major QC issue. A lot of the new figures are impossible to replace.

Bluestreak looks to have the same issue as his G1 counterpart where the vehicle hood snaps off. Many of my old G1 toys are broken where the windshield is attached to the head snapped off.

My springers knee never tabs into the rest of the leg, my iron hide has issues with the pieces of the leg that tab into the side, and my prowl always has issues in car mode. He never perfectly tabs and his doors pop open

My Skywarp has the exact same issue. I'm a bit surprised no one has mentioned Grapple very much. I've almost snapped those pegs off that go into his feet. I had to put oil on him just to loosen the pegs to get it out, so I got lucky. I wasn't aware of the issue, and if I hadn't thought of doing what I did and then sanding it down, I could've snapped those things off. And that would've really gotten to me.

I fixed my Skywarp by cutting a slip of some notebook paper and folding it a few times; I did the same for TC just to be sure.

The left flap on my Earthrise Astrotrain (or right from his own perspective) actually pushes the pin forward slightly because of what I can only assume is a molding issue on my copy. Overtime, this caused the plastic covering the pin to stress, crack, and break off entirely. The flap is still able to stay just fine (most of the plastic keeping it in place is still there), but it looks really bad unless you position his hand or gun in front of it. I've also had issues with my Earthrise Cliffjumper, specifically the paint chipping on his shoulders because of transformation. I'm not sure why Hasbro decided to do those in black plastic, and paint it over. Luckily I was able to avoid the issues with Grapple's notorious pegs. I didn't start by pegging them in fully, but just a bit deeper each time until the excess friction wore away. Now I'm able to plug them in fine, and pull them out with ease (just pull them straight out, don't wiggle them).

I bought kingdom Cyclonus a couple days ago and the transformation joint in the wrist broke right out the box. the pin wasn't centered in the hole so the rotation puts stress on the joint and the pin just fell out

Thankfully I haven't had a problem with my Earthrise Arcee, but my Thrilling 30 Arcee had a thumb break off. Still don't quite know how it happened, but she can still hold her weapons.

I just had the 'normal' arms not pegging in on Bluestreak but my Smokescreen's shoulder peg is COMPLETELY MISALIGNED from its slot! I have to actually bend & put sideways pressure on him to get the arm tabbed in. Arcee is a complete mess in car mode, very dissapointing.

This may ruin a small part of the hobby for me...since I still don't have a proper display shelf, so no burning need to open everything as soon as I get it, I like to keep (some) figs in the box for weeks or months before I mess with them. It gives me a way to treat myself at any time without having to spend money. Now I'm worried about opening an old fig and finding a QC issue and having to spend a lot to get a replacement... I have yet to open any of my Earthrise Deluxes and Siege Prowl and Red Alert have been hanging on the wall behind me. Come to think of it, I haven't opened my figs of most of the more obscure characters either: Spinister, Crosshairs, Snapdragon...

If you said that the windscreen is meant to stay stuck on that red piece, could you possibly glue that windscreen onto that red part? Sticking the clear part back to where it’s meant to be and leave the broken hinge together with the rod

I have an issue with my Astrotrain. I went to transform it for the first time, opened up his chest and pulled out the back of the shuttle mode and lo and behold he was packaged without his tail fin. It's just... not there. Very frustrating.
