So what seems to have happened is that Rumble was supposed to be red and Frenzy was supposed to be blue, the G1 cartoon made an animation error that swapped them and stuck with it, and ever since then creative teams at Hasbro have been at war with each other over following the original intent, or the single most influential piece of transformers media. Tough call... I'm in camp RIRFIB, influenced by my first piece of transformers media being the 1986 movie where it wasn't clear, then the Ultimate Guide book, which used RIRFIB.

I like how in the G1 cartoon the combiner rivals not just their faction, but also their ideology: Ariel Bots are flying vehicles while stunticons are cars. Protectobots are rescue vehicles while combaticons are military vehicles. Techno bots are sci fi/futurist vehicles while terrorcons are mythological and fantasy creatures Trainbots are train vehicles while predacons are animals.

MECH was criminally underused. Sure, humans don't always have to be particularly dangerous to the Cybertronians, God knows Bayverse took that a bit too far, but we see MECH earning its threat level over time, and the explicit purpose of the giant cannons on Darkmount or whatever the S3 fortress was called, was to hold major cities hostage to prevent human airstrikes. Because not even Cybertronians are come out of a 2-ton bomb, let alone nukes if push comes to shove, looking pretty. I'm mainly influenced by a decent if very dense AU fanfic where MECH develpps the technology to "make" humans into Cybertronians, and while that went slightly off the deep end in a good way it was a string example. Plus they cancelled S4 of Animated for the sake of making Prime, the least they could've done is give us more humans who were actually factors of consideration.

I hope barricade returns again in transformers cartoon once more along side blackout as main villains like the 2007 film. Especially want to see his and bumblebee rivalry expanded upon more since I love these two rivalry for each other. (Way more than him and prowl)
