Good evening sir, I'm Arup and also fan of your channel. Sir I got a E-Rikshaw Battery charger with Dead Symptom. After check cold test their had PWM CHIP(UTC3842A), SWITCHING MOSFET (12N60), GET CURRENT LIMITING RESISTOR, SOURCE LOAD RESISTOR and RT RESISTOR WAS BLOWNS OUT. From this bad components value I have recovered instead of GET CURRENT LIMITING RESISTOR. After cheking datasheet of PWM CHIP I used the GET CURRENT LIMITING RESISTOR 68 OHM and RT RESISTOR 1K. Where as Other all components was good. After changed all the bad components I had power up by 100watt series lamp. Then problem comming fluctuating. Series lamp also fluctuated. Then I had check all the voltage o/p and opto isolator supply was fluctuated. That's why I had change again opto isolator PC817 and again power up mistakenly direct line. Unfortunately all the bad components again BLOWNS out soon. After all that I had change again all the bad components and this time Power up by the series lamp. Luckily this time problem seen fixed and all the voltage seen good ( O/P, PWM CHIP POWER, OPTO ISOLATOR POWER ). But this time I have seen the somke is come out from some where from the ckt. Due to this reason after power down, I have check again cold test. Then seen Switching FET and it's GET CURRENT LIMITING RESISTOR was over heating. And check also all components primary and secondary site all components was good instead of FET and GET CURRENT LIMITING RESISTOR. After all again power up by series lamp it was seen problem is fixed. But after some time to take a risk I have power up by direct line. But unfortunately this time again also BLOWNS out previous all bad comments. Where as all components over board showing good. One point I have missed to say that here I have used 15N60 MOSFET instead of 12N60. Please help me sir what should I do and what shall be the checking process? To fix the problem. Thank you sir

I wish a tutorial, on SMPS, with substitute different switching ics. How can a MOSFET be used replacing ic if not readily available.

Nice Sharing, i have mean well power supply 320-48 for charging ev 48v lithium battery but supply not give current 6-7 Amps on start it gives 2-3 Amps we replace the other same supply but after some days the same fault occurred, kindly share knowledge about mean well 48v supplies as your detailed style. Salaam o alaikum there is some component short in secondary side, OR there is come frequency setting component in spms controller section is fail, so might be its switching frequency is inaccurate
