This is good. These often fail in microwave ovens.

exactly it is most common failing component in microwave door interlock

Or a Thermador range that they no longer make the micro-switch. I will try this before trashing the range. LOL

@@dchow007 Micro switches are commonly used in many devices. Unless your Thermador has a custom sized it should be easy to find an after market replacement.

@@bobsoftI found the common switch under a mounting bracket. I'm familiar with the brand Cherry in my days working with computers. This $5 switch is going for $50 to $150 on ebay under the brand Thermador or Bosch. I got one for $5. It has a special attachment but I would move it from the broken switch to the new one.

do you have any idea on what can cause that? I have some of these switches in a video game controller. I've used this type of controller for like 20 years w/o problems but since some 3 years ago the switches in it started presenting malfunctioning after 1 day of use or so. Its crazy; it starts double-inputing when the switch is about to disarm. I guess it may have something to do with the power grid from this house Im living now but Im not sure, I have no idea on how to test and find out what is causing these switches malfunctioning.

over-aging is a fact, its contacts get sticky due to some dust rust (spraying contact cleaner can solve this problem) its spring arm's tension becomes weak, and cause bouncing effect while arming or disarming it can be monitored using oscilloscope to check bouncing effect

@@HaseebElectronicsi guess its something related to the contact area, the arm's tension seems to be just fine. Whenever we use contact cleaner the switch gets back to normal if the switch is brand new, like 1-2 hours of use, but the problem presents itself again after another hour. I really have no idea what causes these hyperfast aging, its looks like magic.

@gxmcdg to overcome this issue 10n to 100n capacitor can be connected in parallel to switch contacts It prevents bouncing effect

@@HaseebElectronics I understood nothing of that haha, but its not the first time I heard a resistor or capacitor installed somewhere could help dealing with this kind of problem. Would you know what terms I can use to search online in order to learn more about that?

Some technicians advise not to use emery paper to scrub the switch contacts. Special coating on contact points gets scratched so use cleaner solvent & cloth, they say.. True?

using zero grade emery sheet (220 or 440 grit) or chamois leather is good. actually we need to remove accumulated material (dust, rust, carbon and oxides due to weather effects, sparking etc) 40 grit: Coarse. 80 grit: Medium. 100 grit: Medium. 120 grit: Fine. 220 grit: Fine. 440 grit: Extra Fine

All, If you have a Thermador or Bosch oven or Microwave with a faulty switch...and found out both companies no longer stocks the parts for repairs... I learned from Haseeb how to troubleshoot. My Thermador P304SC/04 uses a Cherry E-22 microswitch. I got a new old stock on ebay for $5. Don't need to pay someone pulling them out of trashed appliance and selling them for $100. Watch this video again and learn to do some investigating before trashing that overpriced Thermador and Bosch appliance.

You can just lubricate contacts with any machine oil and it will works fine after that.

use 240 sandpaper grit or just scrape with a knife.

perfect knife or thick grains sandpaper makes scratches, which causes sparking and builds carbon deposits quickly
