I had a first date recently and wasn't feeling it at all. He managed to get a reluctant hug out of me and then asked for another and I said "I'm not much of a hugger." I have had a few bad first dates and one that sticks out in mind was talking to a girl online. We got along and decided to meet for a first date to see a movie together. In 2000 we went to go see the movie, "The Cell." For two future love birds to see this science fiction horror film, we were both disturbed experiencing this together. After the film we didn't talk to the walk to my car. Then driving her home both of us had nothing to say basically in shock. I dropped her off in her driveway, said good bye, and we never spoke again. ~ That movie was not a good first date movie! - It is disturbing.

Amanda Ash omg this happened to me I was 17 it was because he was ill we then came out to find it had snowed and no public transport was running so we walked to his nearby to get a taxi where his mother presumed I was his one night stand I had to wait in the living room with the dog whilst they had a row. He then insisted he go with me in the car and thought he would get a kiss at the end even though he was sweating and shivering like crazy. Hell no! I then get indoors get several messages come through from my bestie asking how it went punch a reply it was the worst date ever and went on a rant and hit send then realised his message was at the top and he just got my rant. Saw him few months later and bought him a beer to clear the air and just agreed to be civil. 😂🙄🤦🏻‍♀️

Then, what apparently happened, is it was a case of suspected date rape, but then he was let go because the chick finally told the truth. The incidence of cancer is still higher all over balkans compared to the rest of Europe (35-38% of all yearly deaths compared to 25% in ie. Germany). I'm all right by the way - but i fled the country a few months after this date and never went back, except for visits. But never lived there again. The boy and i broke up as i left. He is doing well too, though. We are best friends to this day :) going strong for 21 years since that disaster date ❤️

I have been on a few classic first dates. One of my favorites: I get to the coffee shop..girl was already there..I did a double take because she didn't look like her photo from her online profile. It was her..but realized the photo was hiding a number of "flaws". Not to sound superficial. I'm not God's gift to women, but I don't hide things. She wasn't smiling in the photo...teeth were not so good. It was black and white..skin was not so good..etc.. Anyways, I'm not a jerk, so I'm not gonna say "hey you are ugly, I'm outta here". So I stay for an hour or so just to chat. Obviously I'm not attracted to her, but I'm more upset about the fact she was deceiving. Like I am not going to notice the difference and carry on like it's nothing. I think I am being pretty obvious that I am not attracted based on my body language but still trying to be polite with conversation. We walk out to the street and to say good bye. Or so I thought. She asks if I want to go to dinner..I'm thinking to myself "wasn't I obvious that I wasn't interested?". So I say no thanks..I'm gonna head home..it was nice to meet you..etc.. I'll give her a quick hug..but she gives me the "I want a kiss face"..and leans in for one. wow that was embarrassing. I just turned around and walked away. To try for a kiss after a one hour coffee first date in the middle of the afternoon, let alone think that I would be interested was mind blowing. Here is the kicker...the next day I get a phone call from her and she says to me "I just wanted to let you know that I didn't feel a connection last night".

Either you support traditional gender roles or you don't and I am fine with either but I am not gonna mix and match by having to pay, open doors, give jackets, protect you in an emergency if I have just heard you talk all night against those gender roles. I guess you don't know much about feminism. Letting the woman pay for dinner and asking her for her jacket: You mean you want to reverse the traditional gender roles. Feminism is about equality. The gender should not matter at all. If you want to do something nice, you can pay for dinner or offer your jacket or hold the door etc. - whether you are male or female. Just because it is polite to do so or because it is a nice gesture. Or you don't do any of it because you don't want to/don't like your date.
