It is so important to give attention to this issue. I grew up as a devotee in the USA, and it's very confusing as a young lady without proper involvement from family or senior devotees. I did not have proper guidance in my choice of relationship. Now I'm a single mother of 2 boys. It's good advice to become happy in your own life first. Neediness is not attractive.

That's a true concern. Unfortunately only strong spiritual practice will help girls to stay pure. Otherwise it is very difficult to remain un touched. These days even some brahmana writers are writing books like 'One Indian girl' and book contains all the things girls can easily get spoiled. They are changing the ideology. As a result doing sinful things will be considered as a normal thing. Uniting without marriage will be considered as ok thing.... so even if you are not in ISKCON there are other strong religious sampradayas like Sri Vaishnavas... it would be better if you choose a girl from there. Without strong spiritual principles it is very difficult to remain pure.

Hare Krsna dear Shilpa, so nice to know you more. And thank you for your kind words. 🙏 i really appreciate. Ideally it is better if husband is older to wife. But there are exceptions. How they were grown up also matters a lot. For example, if 5 years older to you man was the youngest son in the family it will be very difficult for him to understand younger to him people. On the other hand if 2 years old younger to you boy is the eldest in his family and took care of his younger siblings then he would become a very nice husband and care giver. So i would say don't loose any more time and go ahead with the best among those boys.

Yes, we need to focus on loving Krishna. But we can't close our eyes to the basic needs of our devotees. They need food, shelter, clothing and protection. Marriage is one of those basic things which many girls are in need of, in life. Srila Prabhupada's sister got married very early. And he himself arranged marriages of his disciples.

No it is not like that. We just have devotee care facilities where we help in many aspects of life of the devotees. Be it finding a job, health support, financial support, or senior living, or finding a match. So devotees are humans and they have material basic needs as well besides spiritual development. So in our temples we try to help and care for our devotees.

If it doesn't I'd rather think it's Krishna's wish. I do understand that there's the issue about a so-called biological clock with mataji's. But still it doesn't feel right when you have a checklist in your head and you try to visit a temple for that sole purpose, rather than self purification.

But today with men needing a lot more time to buy a house or move out and ladies having complications with child birth post 30. It is a complicated mess. But still it is important to preserve the purity of both body and mind for all individuals. I think a lot of these problems could be avoided if you could learn to live in larger families in a single household, like it was traditionally in our culture. But that requires a lot of learning to adjust.

Hare Krishna, Mataji. All respects to your point of view, but advertising oneself as a marriageable product on a website can be very demeaning. As per Vedic culture, as stated in the story of Kardama Muni and Devahuti in the Bhagavatam, Manu Maharaj very respectfully took his daughter to Kardama Muni, and the marriage was conducted without any drama. In Kali Yuga, many people are born with challenging relationship karma, and hence, things may not go as planned despite making all efforts. Therefore, people should be cautious of this.

In earlier days people used to have big families, and many, many relatives, and people used to live so close, village used to know when girl reaches puberty age. Many times they even celebrate puberty of their daughters, why? To announce to the world that she is ready for marriage. So in those days these were possible. These days we don't have such opportunities so going to websites is necessary at times. But for all means girls need to be very careful meeting someone on website. That's why after finding someone, before going into chat mode, it is better if she tells about this person to her parents, and it is better if they all together meet him. Not alone.
