Thanks for keeping the orig 6! Anyone can shove new tech in anything - It takes a real man to find, build and restore old parts and engines! If they break down, you won't be scratching your head on the side of the highway waiting for Triple A to tow you! A set of points, and very few tools and you are back running again! 70 - 80 mph if you desire!

That brought back memories when I was 10 helping my dad put a Pontiac V8 in a 62 half ton. He bought it with a 6 banger that had a cracked block. So much of what I know today came from working with him on that truck. I washed parts in the back yard in an oil pan filled with gas. No gloves. No mask. That's how it was done back then. That looks like a very clean truck. Thank you for the video.

Nice work as usual. Thinking when the ignition went south he had a hell of a backfire and blew the muffler up. Then probably parked it for a thirty year nap. It has woke up nice!

I am going to see this video again and Mexican the steps you took with your truck. I think I have left a comment before that I have a 1955 1/2 ton with a 235 6 cylinder engine. Also in the works is a 1963 C10 fleet side with a V8. I can not to see the next video.

Great old 230 I6, older neighbor of mine told me "if it's got compression and no Rod's knocking it will run" Don Austin of Mattawan Michigan passed away, he had one of the last old Selvage Yards in our area. I have to check points rotor & cap in my 63 C10's 292 I6 after putting a different ignition Wiring Harness on it finally turned over last summer. Thanks for sharing Brother Gibs, it was great to hear Big Daddy's voice again, may God continue to bless you both each day... Keep On Trucking Brother Gibs & Big Daddy👍...

Wonder why it was parked. I'm doing a 63 Chevy Biscayne that sit on the farm for 42 years. I found that the exhaust pipe was smashed flat from the gravel roads it lived on. Of course at the time when you parked a car it instantly became a donor vehicle.

@@SesameStreetRacingChannelbecause you can only drive it locally... that tired old straight 6 will never keep up with traffic on the interstate these days... it'll be a rolling road block...it needs a V8 swap... carburated at the very least, but a fuel injected LS would be better...

A Rear end swap. Put in a 373 ratio off a newer chevy. It gets a new freeway personality. 😂

I love them Chevy 6s... one cool thing to do is to get a HEI ignition from a later model 6. It's easy and a huge improvement.
