Hassan King wins IBJJF Jiu Jitsu Gold in Orlando One Handed!

I was there cheering Hassan on! I had won gold myself earlier in the day.
Yesterday we started reminiscing about this match...someone asked if there was a video of it.
Because Silvius Bong Barrientos and Shyla Barrientos are awesome....they sent me this video of the legendary "one armed gold medal match" by Hassan King at the 2019 IBJJF Orlando Open.
April Pullett had said she wished she had a video of the match (the rumor that she just got past her fury last week regarding her son competing with a broken shoulder 5 years ago is simply not true 🤣) so I asked Bong and Voilà ! (Shyla 's commentary during the match is epic)
Backstory: Hassan had registered for the competition and then injured his shoulder. He wasn't supposed to compete but wanted to go with the team to support everyone. So, wearing a sling, he watches his teammates compete. Then he got the crazy idea that he could compete but just hold the hand of his injured arm inside his belt.
He and Professor got in a lot of trouble with Mama 1: April Pullet and Mama 2: Tamara Manuel ...but there is always a price to be paid for LEGEND status 🤣
The kids were going crazy as Hassan pulled off this win. You'll notice he puts his left hand in his belt to protect the broken shoulder.
