Hasselblad XPan 2022 Review (Is it worth it?)

For people interesting some points: 1. The camera can shoot in 3:1 too, so if you want it as your only film camera you can. 2. If you shoot film to get your creative juices going and move out of your confort zone this camera is very good. 3. if you shoot film only and do 5x7 or. 645 this camera will be a fantastic instrument to achieve 2. 4. One really needs to take the time to learn to see in panorama, as Edward did and that is expensive at the beginning. 5. Expensive all arround, the lenses the body etc. 6. It's starting to be difficult to get parts, and that will just go downhill from now. 7. If you shoot a 35mm rangefinder I don't know that the difference is great enough for you to add this to your collection. It has very limited set of lenses etc.

I feel you. 35mm photo class 7yo (failed first time -crazy mom .. ), but rule of thirds unless you're Wes Anderson, the fundamentals are key. good photos though.

great photos eddie! I actually thought the photos of your family playing basketball could've worked if you were just a tad lower in perspective. some of the photos in the beginning were really amazing. Nothing wrong with loving a camera that's difficult to shoot. I think it's good to sometimes have that "intended intentionality" for us street photographers to remind ourselves that we don't have to do everything quickly and run and gun to have nice photos! And there's really nothing wrong with trying a camera that may not be for you (particularly if processing because a chore to do). great video man, loved the video

maybe a dumb question but how do you get a picture of the picture with the bit of film in the top

not a dumb question. its just dslr scanning so i get the full negative

I always love the Xpan format. 😍 Glad to see it in a few digital cameras (Fuji GFX, Hasselblad X, and Panasonic S). Even if the rendition isn't exactly the same, it's still super nice to use directly in the camera ! I find it more arty than filmic. 21:9 feels more cinematic to me. 😉 Wish for a true digital Xpan sensor, but don't have much hope for it.

L for not filming the whole video in 16x9... Nah jokes, but actually tho I think some of these photos are some of your best work. The one with the people tubing, the boxers, and several others I felt really benefitted from the unique format. Anyways, keep doing what you're doing guy 👏👏👏

the digital factor does also scare me. this price range and a break would just tear me apart.

@@eddie_g my CLE died after heavy usage for multiple years and that scar is still fresh for me. Don't need that with a camera much more expensive ;)

Damm.... sad to hear it did not work for you! I love this camera for all the reasons you don't! This camera makes you think differently than any other digital or film camera! I own a Crown Graphic with a 6x17 roll film back that proves to others the format and cameras are not a hinder because they are slow!

great video! i bought a minty one with the 45mm lens for 2500 off offer up a steal compared to today’s prices haha but i completely agree with you its a very challenging camera and finding scenes is very challenging. I always have another camera because of this but also debating on letting it go because of that reason🥲
