I don't understand why people get freaked out about the Barbie thing. Saying Barbie is insidious because Bild Lili exists is like saying a Porsche is the same as a Volkswagen Beatle. They're based on Beatles, so they must be the same, right? The original Bild Lili was specifically designed for adults. Then it was made for children (girls specifically). Its the same for the old Grim Fairy tales, they were adopted for a modern audience because the original were indeed, very grim. Just because something started out as something bad, doesn't mean it is bad. I much prefer judging something based on its own merits, not the merits of something that came before. BUT, I won't lie, that is an interesting tid bit.
