32:12 Apparently people think there’s around 100 billion stars in our galaxy, each usually having planets/a planet, and then apparently they think there’s a couple trillion galaxies So I feel like there’s definitely other intelligent alien life, it’s just all insane distances away from each other Some scientist said he thinks there could be up to 5 alien civilisations in our galaxy Also I’d say being against incest is evolutionary, it’s not a thing any animal does unless it “has” to, and it’s a simple and extremely helpful thing to evolve
@positronalpha2 жыл бұрын
There's the three physical dimensions, but also a shitton of time - I agree that it is certain that there is intelligent life elsewhere, but it being anything like humanity becomes less likely when you consider the time available for their evolution to happen.

can we vote to replace Smith with Tom?
@threemoo2 жыл бұрын
This week on "I never agree with Smith" we have a special episode, this one's called "Smith's chatting absolute BS": No Smith, "all behaviours" of a human being are not socially constructed, you'd have to be utterly stupid to actually believe that. Every single living organism on the planet from the largest tree to the tiniest single cell amoeba have natural behaviours that are necessary for them to exist.
@askewopal2 жыл бұрын
You're thinking of instincts. Instinct is an action that occurs immediately on a trigger. Learned behavior is an action that the person learns through observation, education or experience.
@threemoo2 жыл бұрын
@@askewopal You're specifying "learned" for a reason. What you're actually describing is a theory that has not been proven. (and will not be proven)
@mat67322 жыл бұрын
idk why you’re being so inflammatory about it
@askewopal2 жыл бұрын
@@threemoo learned behaviors are learned, as opposed to innate behaviors i.e. instincts. Clearly Smith was referring to the former. It is backed by numerous studies, Pavlov's dogs being just one well known example.
@threemoo2 жыл бұрын
@@askewopal but this is my point. Smith said all behaviours, that's what I meant. Everyone in this comment chain agreed I just misunderstood what the first reply was actually saying, sorry about that.
