There’s been recent studies tying full formed babies dying in the egg to similar circumstances to SIDS- heavy carbon dioxide in tubs settling down in a tub when babies are exerting themselves. We’re trying a couple of small holes below the level the eggs are at, and one above so as the CO2 leaves, fresh air enters.

Just found your Channel, really interesting thanks, Would be great to catch up. I live in the UK, but spent 10 years working in Indonesia breeding and exporting, reptiles, mammals and birds. Chondros are my favourite also, I learnt from a UK breeding legend to turn the temp of incubation down in the last couple of weeks in increments aim for 31.5-32.2c then in last 10-12 days decrease by 0.2c per day mainly to ensure when they hatch the yolk is at the best consistency for absorption into the neonate.

Great video! Can you do a video on your Natures Spirit incubator, and walk through the mods you made to it and how you set it up before putting Chondro eggs in it? And what is the reason that you started using substrate instead of newspaper in your cages? You always promotoed newspaper/paper towels instead of susbstrated before.

I've addressed my NS incubators a couple of times prior in past videos, but happy to do it again! No worries. Mulch? Unfortunately due to continual dry sheds, I needed to make a change. Still not a big fan, but it helps tremendously with sheds. Thanks for watching! Gary

Is it possible to keep baby's humidity too high prior to 1st shed? Respiratory issues possible?
@gsreptiles56063 жыл бұрын
Great question, and since I don't have a definitive answer, here is what I can tell you. If kept too wet, blistering would be the primary issue IMO as opposed to an RI. I can confirm however that I'm pushing almost 200+ baby chondros produced during my breeding career, and I've not had one come down with an RI pre shed. Although I would think if kept too warm (above 85) or too cold (below 79), combined with high humidity, chances for an RI would increase drastically. Hope this helps, and thanks for watching!

Gary i have a wee question. I know you live your green sanzinia.I’m wondering how much do cb green sanzinia go for in the US? I live in the UK and i have the opportunity to get some young green sanzinia in the new year. The price i have been quoted which seems like a really good price to me is £290 which is around $385 . As i say that seems like theyr going for a reasonable price.i know the people are more concerned about getting good homes for them than they are about the money. Would love to hear your take on it. Hope you had a great thanksgiving.
@SomeOne-zw6kh3 жыл бұрын
I'm pretty new to the reptile community, but what I've heard is that if sounds too good of a price, it's probably not legit. But if you know the people I'm sure it's different.
@BeneathTheGold3 жыл бұрын
@@SomeOne-zw6kh yes i would normally agree but the pricing in the UK. and US can be very different in some species. I’ll give you a couple of examples… In the US a normal chahoua gecko is going to set you back atleast $1000 usually more like $1500 . Here in the UK i bought TWO UKcaptive born mainlsnd chahoua for £150. One of em is just a normal coloured and one is more or less jet black with a couple of tiny spots. I have never ever seen one like it and i’m pretty sure it would be a $2k animal in the states. But it works in reverse too.i wanted a d’alberts python.i looked them up for sale in the US and they were going for $250 mostly farmed imports but in great condition. Found one cb for sale here in the UK it was ten times the price £2500 . Not only that it sold within 5 minutes . The people that sell the green sanzinia are rock solid. Very well known and respected within the uk herp scene. They run the big Uk IHS reptile show at donnington and are good friends with the well respected herpetologists Romulas Whittaker.(you may have seen him on tv chasing cobras about) they have the cites paper work for these sanzinia. Im just curious what they go for in the US and why Gary is so cuckoo for coco pops with green sanzinia but not red sanzinia.
@SomeOne-zw6kh3 жыл бұрын
@Happy Bee I'll have to youtube them! Like I said, I'm fairly new to the whole situation hah. I've tried out other reptile channels, but most of them I feel like are more geared toward kids maybe?? Idk. Hard to get into sometimes. I have heard that prices differ depending on the country, which is insane. Well the amount of the difference is insane. Did you end up deciding to get them??

@gsreptiles56063 жыл бұрын

I wonder if the dead in the egg pythons are a form of evidence bias. You think they are saved by cutting the egg once the first breaches however the time line of when others should have breached has passed at that point and you wouldnt know because they never emerged so by cutting after the first one emerges slightly the others who missed their window already died. I’m definitely no breeding expert just a thought I had.

Excuse me sir. Id like to purchase GTP from you. You seem to be a trustworthy person I can trust to purchase one of these beauties. Yes I'm very well versed with their needs don't worry. I would worry aswell. These snakes are NOT for everyone. Please write back

The person that says gtp breeders that cuts theyr eggs are greedy are clearly both not a snake or reptile breeder and obviously mentally challenged . I mean if you can help more animals live that way why wouldn’t you you know?I would just totally ignore such comments completely Gary as they are 110% irrelevant to the issue
