And you could have quests for certain mythical creatures! Theory of a Hippogriff: I think it depends for hippogriff of live born or egg hatched youngsters. I think the ones born live born and ones with hippogriff parents who are strong shouldered and prefer to build nests in meadows and on the ground, ones that lay eggs have bigger wings and fly more often than more horse like hippogriffs and build their nests on high trees open to the fresh air.

It depends on the type of hippogriff. A horse hippogriff gives birth,and an eagle hippogriff lays eggs. Odd is a horse hippogriff but since he's a boy eggs will be layed.

When I think about if a Mythical animal lays eggs or not. my go to is to look at the rear end and ask "is its rump mammalian or reptilian?'"If its a mammal, live birth. If its a reptile, it lays eggs(same for bird rears). With crossbreeds the female desides egg or live since she'll be the one carrying the young.

Hippogriffs and Griffins both lay eggs, and their eggs are indistinguishable from each other. Griffins primarily prey on horses, so when raising them it's important to keep horse meat. However, if you don't know what kind of egg you have, you need to hide the horse meat because it will upset a newly-hatched hippogriff. Or, at least, that's what my old mythology book said.
