I can't watch a NAILS set without people saying how much they hate "moshing." Nails is a fucking hardcore band and will always be a hardcore band. That's what people do at fucking hardcore shows.

I don't like the moshing either but i usually keep it to myself. I love the music/shows in general though. I just don't go into the pit, and I leave it at that. I love the atmosphere. I love the live music. If you don't like it, you don't have to be there. You don't have to say shit online. Buy their album and stay at home.

Lots of sets now a days are overblown in length....different times. I personally find the bands tighter and more precise these days.....but bands like Nails, Turnstile, and many more play waaaaaay too long for my tastes......though I wager age, marriage, and momhood play their roles in my current position....

Hardcore became impossible to quantify as a sound by about 1982. I think it's about identity, belief, particular take on community. When bands like Neurosis returned to playing more and more with hardcore bands in the 1990s everything was on the table.

This is actually how they started. Unsilent Death he screamed this way and then switched to high screams on Abandon All Life (their best album by far, imo) and then went back to mid range/low screams for Youll Never Be One of Us.
