@WButterTBWButter5 жыл бұрын
Gotta love this band, even though their "LP" was kind of a scam haha. Also dig that Stigmata hoodie!
@Cheeseburger.Launch.Sequence5 жыл бұрын
Short LPs have been a thing lately. I got the whopping 7 song Ecostrike LP which clocks in well under 20 mins. The last Trapped Under Ice is less than 20 mins. Fuck it. Good tunes. I'm pushing 40 I need to save time.
@WButterTBWButter5 жыл бұрын
@@Cheeseburger.Launch.Sequence Yeah, but the new Ecostrike had only new songs, while the Trail Of Lies had 2 rerecordings and one filler and thats just unacceptable from an 8 track LP if you ask me. Also, I really didn't like the new TUI and considering that Big Kiss Goodnight is probably my favorite HC record of all time, that says something haha. Bands that come to mind that have short but great LPs are Forced Order and Expire.
@Cheeseburger.Launch.Sequence5 жыл бұрын
@@WButterTBWButter I dunno...I like em all.... by pure chance and not due to controversy I missed on Expire. I do have a 17 year old daughter...so I will probably just avoid em to be safe. The mom, aunt, and godmom in me is so used to just having to applaud any effort regardless I have to say I enjoyed Heatwave. I have the ToL LP but have yet to really listen to it. It is more of a 12 inch than an LP I will admit. My husband gave me a hard time over the Ecostrike LP.....considering raising livestock for food is one of my sources of income....but I dig it.... I'll take in their perspective.
@WButterTBWButter5 жыл бұрын
@@Cheeseburger.Launch.SequenceThat controversy on Expire reaaaaally sucks, they used to be one of my favorite bands. I can somewhat listen to them because all their stuff dropped before the incident. I am against judging someone on false accusations, but this dude literally had like two dozens of girls with evidence speak against him, so fuck him. Instantly deleted all of the stufff from his other band, Stone, from my collection. Same with Young And In The Way, who I loved before. That Heatwave LP was way too Angel Dust-y for me tbh. I really liked Secrets of the World too, but the songs on Heatwave were very forgettable imo. Regarding the TOL LP, if you've been a fan of them before, the LP wasn't that much new stuff, considering how much they hyped it up. That record was just filled with rerecordings and fillers to sell it as an LP imo. Regarding Ecostrike (which are one of my favorite bands because they sound like fucking Strife), I am also not a vegan and I also don't think eating meat per se is wrong, but I am fucking disgusted by how animals are treated by some humans. If you raise them to be your nutrition source, at least give them a pleasnt life and treat them with respect. I won't even start on the anthropocentric extinction of species and the pollution of our oceans. But I get you, I also won't listen to bands that have complete opposed opinions on things like politics and stuff than me and write songs about it.
@Cheeseburger.Launch.Sequence5 жыл бұрын
@@WButterTBWButter I don't think listening to the old Expire music means much or is a big deal....choosing to no longer actively support the guy isnt a bad idea either. I have still listened to the Suburban Scum LP several times after that controversy....not quite as bad, but I believe many pulled support for them as well. Unfortunately the false accusations were bound to happen. Back in the early 2000's this band The Prowl created a minor stir with some cartoon cover art of a woman being disembowled. The band members werent even labled as mysoginist.... the cover art was considered dangerous and irresponsible by the ultra feminists, but life went on. I wonder what would transpire now a days with something that simple...slasher flick art basically. I have the ToL cassette but that was also short and got very little listening. I typically listen to hardcore while working out in the afternoons so a minimum length is appreciated. Lately I've been into the newer Take Offense cassette, the World Demise ep, The Jesus Peice LP, The Ammo demo, Harms Way Posthuman, and the most recent Blind Justice LP. Also recently pulled out Overcast Fight Ambition, The original Unloved and Weeded Out to compare with the Reissue, and the old Morning Again LP. #HardcoreMom
