Hey "Crew" I'm watching this video on 5/27/22 and will be on the Hatfield-McCoy Trails again on 5/29/22. We are planning on going to the Rescue Mine Shaft during our 5 days of trail riding. Thanks so much for showing us the "gated" side of the trail to the mine shaft. Maybe the gate will be open for us too. I guess we'll plan on bringing something for the horses if we find them. Thank you for the review of Castle Rock Lodge!! That might be a place we're interested in staying at in the future. As normal, the content of your video's is exceptional and I can't wait to see the next one !!!

That mine is crazy deep! Then I'm sure it tunnels off to the sides. Was it gold they were mining do you know?
@TheCanAmCrew2 жыл бұрын
Ya it was pretty crazy. It would have been an old coal mine. West Virginia is huge on coal.
@ShippRacing2 жыл бұрын
If it took the rock 12 seconds to hit the bottom, it would of been 706m deep or 2,300ft, that is one deep hole . ( .5 x 9.81 x 144)
@TheCanAmCrew2 жыл бұрын
@@ShippRacing wow. I was figuring a couple hundred at least. That’s deep.

Nice video man, I'm staying at Ashland resort in March and wondering if I can get to this mine shaft and slurry pond from there? And also what maps you are using?
@TheCanAmCrew2 жыл бұрын
Hey, thank you. I am using bob t maps on a Samsung tab a 10.1 with back country navigator pro app. It’s not to far from Ashland so definitely do able. It’s just south of the pinnacle creek system.

If your crew ever heads to the Carolinas and you want some more people to ride with our group usually does Carolina Adventure World, Uwharrie National Forrest, Broken Nut, and recently Deep Creek ATV Park. We love Hatfield McCoy, but it’s about a 6 hour drive from the Charlotte, NC area so we only get up there 1 to 2 times a year.
