To put everyone's mind at ease, testicular torsion is only a fear if you have a Bell Clapper deformity (lovely name). In most men, the testes are secured to the scrotum, but in those poor souls who have bell clappers, theirs are free to move and twist. I cannot overstate how grateful I am that I don't have that condition

Testicular torsion can in some cases occur without the bell clapper deformity. Also, the bell clapper deformity is found in around 12% of males, usually bilaterally. Which is why when someone presents with unilateral torsion they fix both of the testes with a bilateral orchidopexy.

I have had awake brain surgery (yes brainsurgery while being awake) and i can tell you that you feel everything, not really nerve pain but it feels like a big fat headache. Also, they wash the brain with something during surgery a lot, and i could definetly feel it dripping in there and it was v cold okay bye!

When you present to A+E they assess your presenting complaint and assess you based on how soon you could die or have a permanent issue if nothing is done. If you said you had chest pain and palpitations you would be right at the top of the list. In a heart attack the aim is to have you treated within 2 hours of presenting. With testicular torsion you should be treated within 6 hours of the pain starting, otherwise you have a high chance of losing your ball.

I had a terrible work accident that blew up my finger tips. When my scabs came off I had to go to the hospital because I could see my finger bone sticking out. They literally took a pair of scissors and cut my bone back into my finger. I didn't feel anything when they were cutting it, there's no nerves in the bone, so there was no feeling. It felt like cutting my finger nails honestly
