I didn't want Smith to win any previous game but he better win this time. Also when he wanted to give ross $1,500 for 1 station?? Come on that's a deal where you just say yes right away, it's not giving smithy that much. I feel like Ross was felt peer pressured to not accept it or something. Even for $1k you sell it and buy a card you actually need with that money. Why care about 1 station which you earn $25 from?? and it'll only let smith earn $100 from them! $1,500! accept that right away. @@walker1054 Ultimately it seems they've got no idea how to evaluate deals. Completing a Set has a high cost associated with it, unless you both complete a set, in which case circumstance and board positioning of the property sets may make one player offer/ask for more. If no one is completing a set, it gets vastly simpler in that you can just evaluate the deal based on: How long will it take for them to get a return on the property at this price. Can I utilise the property/Money they give me immediately: Can I use this money to purchase houses? Can I use this money to leverage someone else using this AND a property in order for a set? This was, frustrating, to say the least. 1500 for a single trainstation, which isn't even the 4th one, is just an instant accept like you say. That is a nonsense amount of cash to give someone this early in the game; especially if they're roughly equal with other players at this stage in the game.

I thought selling Smithy the trainstation was good. My instinct was to barter a 3 way deal between Pyrion, Trott, and Sips. Something like Sips gets both blues and utilities, Trott gets pink set, and Pyrion takes orange set and maybe pays a bit of money to Trott and Sips for having a better set. In such a game, Pyrion would probably be something like 35% to win I think (Assuming play follows that Sips recognizes that he is going to struggle unless he hits big on blue, and sells Ross Red for something like 1k in value. Maybe 400 and the greens and train stations.)

It was a bad trade from Pyrion followed by a terrible trade from Smith. Pyrion was too relaxed about the value of stations & Smithy was motivated by sticking it to Sips instead of making smart financial choices. What Smith doesn't understand is that cash is worthless with no sets on the board. If you want property, you are going to have to trade some property back with cash as an extra bargaining tool, not the main means of trade.
@henryfielding69615 жыл бұрын
Cash is worthless but its not like he had much choice, he lost out on dice rolls and thats all he had to trade with by the time the board was all bought up. And like money is worthless in real life but because we all realize its potential as a trade go between it suddenly becomes very useful, theres no reason that cant apply here, the only reason its worthless is becasue they all refuse to deal with it apart from smithy.

You are upset that people aren't throwing the game away with shit deals. It's Monopoly you don't trade away money for property. Money is useless
@IlIIlIIIIIlBrianSt0rm3 жыл бұрын
@@iplaylol25 It's not. Smith was going to give away 1500 for one train station, Smith's deals were insane that early on in the game. Even in late game monopoly 1000+ is game ending
Yeah... Note to self: Never play monopoly with Sips!

Damn, a lot of Smith sympathy in the comments Yes you do need to trade for the game to progress, but the trading is where most of the strategy comes into play in this dice-rolling game. Sips holding out for worth while deals is totally reasonable and highlights more of a flaw with the game itself than him as a person.
@Nimwit9925 жыл бұрын
This is so FRUSTRATING to watch :'D Nothing happens but these tiny amounts of cash getting thrown around. BOIKS play with the rule where you can build houses on a property without owning all three!

Everyone hating on sips because he isn't trading but accepting these deals is just handing the game to smith and would make the game really boring if every deal is accepted IMO.

I personally Really don't like the way this was edited in that the borders were fuzzy and the image zoomed in. It wasn't much of a problem on my pc monitor, but on a TV screen it's really distracting.

So... Why is the game not fullscreen...? Is there some sort of aspect ratio restriction with the game? I'm just wondering because that wasn't a thing in the previous Monopoly videos. It was fullscreen before and now it's seemingly shrunk down with the whole blur thing on the edges.

Sips and Ross aren't going to let the game end at this rate thankfully Smith is willing to do horrible deals that don't benefit him for the sake of the game progressing and to watch everyone burn, that poor broken man who only wanted to trade.

So in the earlier games Smith makes pretty ridiculous offers, and everyone refuses. Okay, nothing wrong there Now Smith makes very fair deals (maybe even TOO fair for the others) and everyone still refuses. ???
