The word for the smell of rain is one of my favorite words ever. It's called "petrichor," and it does depend on where you are. Out in Nevada it smelled sort of like dusty salt and here in Michigan it has a bit of lake smell to it.

D Sandman it does look pretty neat, they nailed the retro styling but it’s quite a lot more expensive than ICEs in the same class (by around £10k) and it’s shaping up to be quite heavy which is a shame, although necessary given how heavy and low energy density batteries are sadly

The pandemic has revealed just how little the average commuter contributes to carbon emissions and climate change. With car traffic greatly reduced on a global scale, there hasn't been enough of a decrease to show that big industry isn't the main contributor. Yes it has a build-up effect, but as the car industry is set to transition to fully-electric vehicles I believe that there is still a place for motor enthusiasts to enjoy driving petrol cars guilt-free - especially if you can help in other ways through occasional donations, etc.

The most ironic part about people interested in 'hybrids' and stuff...... is that maintaining an older car is exponentially more eco-friendly than buying a new hybrid/electric car and the pollution it takes to produce them. It's a gimmick to sell to people for a premium, while the dirty industries making the 'hybrids' are polluting more than all the cars ever will combined. Not to mention, keeping an older vehicle running, keeps the service industry employed, and all the subsequent industries that make parts, distribute them around the world, etc. get sustained too. There's a whole infrastructure that benefits from that, versus paying money directly to a manufacturer that is selling you crap just to make a quick buck while the hype lasts. All while hiding the actual costs of what they're selling you. Don't even get me started on the ability to hack modern cars from any old smartphone, and literally take control over someones vehicle. No thanks!!
