Its in your best interest to do the resupply mission for the trader rather than pay for it. Doing the mission obviously saves you 20 bucks which is nice but more importantly it gives you role xp. This applies to any role based side mission.

Make sure you all get springfield or bolt action rifles. That will one shot everything from deer to grizzly bears, which will be the majority of what you hunt. The varmint rifle is for medium sized critters like possums, badgers etc. and you'll need small game arrows for anything smaller than that. Note that lever action rifles only work on a small number of animals such as coyotes or goats.

When it comes to fishing irl and in red dead. You lift the rod then reel in on the release. It makes winding alot easier and in red dead it glitches the fish closer

Lads, it's different weapons for different types of animals, and one shot to the head or neck is a clean kill that won't damage the quality of the pelt. Most animal travel in 3s and there's usually a 1 star, a 2 star, and a 3 star, so if you see a lower star one, look around and hunt the big bois so you get more raw material for Crips. Things like Elk, Deer, Goat will take a rifle shot to the head, regular ammo. Wolves, Coyotes, Foxes, Raccoons will take an arrow, while smaller things will need small game arrows or a varmint rifle. If you get the Naturalist role you can also track down Legendary animals which you can study and then kill and take to Crips for maximum profit.

I gotta say, my only reference point for cowboy/old west genre stuff is Steel Ball Run so whilst is a lack of mystical shenanigans going on, I've really been enjoying watching the boiks play some RDR2, the online looks a lot more full and complete compared to when it was first released.
