just when i think Adobe can't get any slimier, then find out what my $60 monthly subscription is contributing to 😭😭😭 the awful thing is, as a motion designer, there's literally NO WAY you can move away from the creative suite, bc iNdUsTry sTanDArd 🤡
@monicaokami21 күн бұрын
@mangokilla127 Cavalry, DaVinci, and Blender are coming up, I'd say each does something better than AE but then youre missing the ease of use ;-; It really is hard to move away from After Effects after using it for so many years though
@KelLauren21 күн бұрын
it’s harder bc adobe programs all talk to each other. making changes in one program to update a file and it auto updates in another. it’s a seamless process and it traps us further.

as someone that has dabbled in the adobe suite but has never paid for it (ive never made any money off it, why should i have to pay for it?) (also piracy is v fun) it's so refreshing to hear you guys talk so candidley about their pretty gross attempt to monopolise the professional sector of the industry AND the way they lock out people who are trying to get an in with their software via overpriced subscription models that most people can't afford. I really resonated with the sentiment of not being able to provide a solation to this v big issue but the mere fact that yr talking about it is HUGE imo kelliot nation till i die xoxox

I've got my fingers crossed that Affinity products won't change after its acquisition. My bigger concern is Canva getting bought by a large company. I watched something similar happen with my former favorite asset management app. It's unfortunate when a great product is developed, only for the company to be acquired or the original creators to be sidelined. Development budgets are slashed, the focus shifts to maximizing revenue, and the original vision fades away. This isn't unique to software-I remember when my favorite shoe brand made products that lasted longer than a few months.

Serif (the company that makes affinity) was bought out in the 90's but reaquired ownership in 2001. Hopefully something similar can happen if canva goes the wrong way

I GOT STUCK withe the year of Adobe Stock. I downloaded over 100 3d models and downloaded them onto a hard drive when the year was up because I did not know what to do with those credits. Gosh I hope those are still usable, if they magically disappeared I'd be so mad.

yeah of course adobe products are being used across many practises and skill levels but do you not think those people are also feeling the same about how adobe are restricting the ways their software can be used? idk maybe ive missed something in yr comment but i still think the points being made in this video are valid
