One more trick: the hole you pointed at 14:51 is actually for the power adjustment setscrew. After de-cocking the hammer you can loosen the setscrew through that hole. Then remove the hammer spring center cap on the back side and now you can use a long allen key to adjust the power setting from the back of hammer without taking things apart. I think it's the gas pin that pushes the hammer back. Because the gas port only direct the air to the barrel and between gas port and hammer it is blocked and sealed by oring.

I'm going to suggest RED LINE oil. It is by far the best oil money can buy, and the price reflects it. I just finished cleaning and oiling one of my air rifles with it, (i use it to clean the entire rifle, including the bore) and even after washing my hands with Dawn, there is still a fair amount left on them. It's not a thick oil, but it stays on a surface like nothing else. It's a polyol Ester based oil, and is the only type of oil that has no oil in it. It is truly a synthetic, the same base stock as air conditioning oil, and also jet engine oil. All other 'synthetic oils' are petroleum based, cheaper ones from oil, more expensive ones are actually formulated from natural gas. A very thin coat will give superior lubrication and will 'adhere ' seemingly forever. And thank you for a superb video, as my new .22 Blitz will arrive tomorrow, and the first thing I'm going to do is disassemble it as per your videos, lubricate it with RED LINE, and reassemble it properly tightening the fasteners.

I find this gun to be a fantastic piece of mechanical engineering, however, Hatsan has dropped the ball on tuning and Quality Control before the gun is shipped to its new owner. I followed your videos and opened mine up to find it packed with grease. Like, bearing grease. I used solvent, Qtips and a rag to get rid of all the grease, cleaned the parts and put a few drops of oil. It is evident Hatsan doesn't care if these work properly or not, or, they are selling me someone else's problem as new. I suspect both to be true.

I have one as well great video. Did you notice the small Hex screw at the base of the door for the clip. Look at the door and notice the step. Push the door down to fully open. They should line up. The screw is fairly long and can be used as a stop if adjusted right. Not sure if that’s what it’s for but it makes sense considering the step on the back of the door is a perfect match. No tape needed on mine. Just adjusted until the play was gone in the clip. Might need lock tight to maintain position through time.

@highervoltage54303 жыл бұрын
@@TheLovedr79 - I am in Amherst, Va. I used gear oil on the bolt mechanism and it worked well, but I found later that thicker oil can cause binding of the mechanism by way of the bolt and hammer contacting each other if the bolt doesn't move fast enough. Thus, I use motor oil now which provides less resistance since the balance is very delicate. I think Hatsan should consider redesigning this mechanism with a dedicated hammer catch which does not rely on the bolt to have moved since the movement of such bolt is a secondary action to the firing of the rifle. In effect, the ideal mechanism would catch the hammer and would be released by the action of the bolt coming all the way back. From there, the current stop will holt it just fine until the bolt fully closes.

Great video - Thanks for taking the time. I love your comment "It never gets old", great way to describe this rifle. I bought the 22 caliber and I now am having problems. The rifle had started firing on Auto even though set on Semi some times. Now I have the same symptoms as Eric e had 2 months ago -- pull trigger nothing, except I have noticed that when you cock the bolt back and then release it to seat the pellet, the hammer spring is also releasing 4/5 of the way, then when you pull the trigger, it has a very weak 1/5 travel forward. If I remove the piece shown at 11:45 ( its purpose appears to be to lock the bolt in place so the trigger can not release the air with the hammer back ) then the hammer will stay back and release with impact by using the trigger. I did not try shooting any pellets with that piece removed. The trigger mechanism on top shows a small amount of wear, and it is really flimsy. Any ideas? We have a blast with the rifle when it works. Everyone loves shooting it. I have started working on making a 3D printed loader to shorten the time to fill the clips - couldn't find anything already available.
@highervoltage54303 жыл бұрын
That is a binding mechanism. What is happening is the drag of the transfer piece is causing the mechanism to cycle slowly. Open up the left hand side and expose the gear mechanism. See how that is all worn out and has a lot of slop in it? Weld those 2 parts (linear gear and transition piece) so the transition piece cannot jam sideways. That will fix the issue. If you want, you can send the part to me and I will do a video on that modification since I already modified mine and it shoots so much smoother now.

Thanks for the video. I think the key is to keep the pull rod/bolt moving fast enough and everything will work fine. I also reduce the hammer spring tension that seems fixed the full auto issue when the air pressure is below 150bar.

@@my2004ford - Yes. I intend to do that mod to my .30 gun eventhough it has been problem free. The parts I welded are the lower gear rack and the small rectangular key. I shot mine so much the notch in the key had worn out and it was starting to jam up the gun by twisting sideways. They really should weld it at the factory. The only reason they are separate is to make the parts cheaper to manufacture.

Did you have to make any mods when you added the DonnyFL? I was told that it wouldn’t cycle with a suppressor added?

Nope. Nothing done to the Donny FL. Just had to weld the transition piece to the linear gear rack under the left hand side cover and all worked well. The transition piece twists sideways causing a lot of friction which slows down the action. By welding it, there is ample pressure even with the Donny FL suppressor.

Over the weekend my gun just stopped firing. The trigger pulls...the hammer smacks but no air blast. Have you ever had that happen?
@highervoltage54303 жыл бұрын
Broken transition socket most likely. Remove the 6 screws on the left side of the gun. Inside you will see a rod on top which connects to a rectangular socket and a linear gear below. That socket is under a lot of strain and can break. If you are handy with a welder, TIG weld the linear gear to that transition socket part. If you are not handy with a welder, send it to me and I will weld it for you and send it back. I need to make a video on this anyway. I welded mine up a few weeks ago and it has never fired better. If that isn't the problem, then it is in the air transition system. This could be as simple as a broken hammer spring. I have a few spares that I could send you if that is the case. I forget the Grainger part number, but I replaced mine at one point.

Get a very fine grit (400+) sandpaper or emery cloth and remove the burrs from the edges of the metal parts inside the trigger mechanism, especially the U shaped metal piece has some fitment issues. Clean everything very thoroughly and check for any binding before using a drop of light oil (e.g. Interflon FIN super or Ballistol). I also replaced one of the springs for a slightly weaker one to help with the heavy triggerpull. I think it was the one going straight up above the actual trigger but there are 6 springs inside the trigger mechanisme if I remember correctly so don't just replace the first one you see. The catch for the hammer should be pretty smooth already but check for burrs anyway. If that doesn't help it's best to disassemble the hammer including the bolt and every sliding part, clean everything, remove all of the burrs, polish the hammer faces and reassemble with a bit of lube.
