Have to say both those rifles seem to perform well, and without question their appearance is rather unique for air rifles, I am well impressed with Hatsans' latest editions.

That is a fine looking rifle. My shooting mates think it's all about accuracy with their BSA R-10s etc but I'm a sucker for good looking gun and accuracy sometimes takes second place.

Suppressors work to keep them quiet,if they are being used to hunt it noticeably dampens the noise of the crack as the air exits the barrel. They also aid in accuracy as it balances the weight making off hand shooting easier.

The dove tail and weaver rail combination is a great but simple idea. It would never have come to mind. I'm surprised Daystate, Air Arms, FX or Edgun didn't think of this. O_O Those open sites look interesting too. They will sure catch the eye of clay pigeon shooters.

Hi, I cant tell you how many times I watched this review and the reviews of the AT 44 and the 65 so this Monday made my way over to Solware with all intentions of buying the AT 44. I looked at and shouldered the 44 and personally found balance a little weird for me. I then asked to look at the Galation Tacticle which felt great but when I asked for it in 177 I was told they only had it in the Galatian ii with wooden stock. The looks and how it shouldered it was love at first sight. I think it was one of the fastest sales they had ever made. That evening I took it to my local range, opening the case there was a look of horror from one member who thought is was a shotgun. There was a lot of interest. I put out a sheet of A4 with a 20mm circle to sight in the scope. 4 shots it was on target. I then adjusted to trigger to my liking and was soon grouping 20mm at 25 yds which moved down to 15 mm on my second magazine. To say I am like the canine with 2 *"%*s is no exaggeration. My only complaint, after only 5 magazines full (80 shots) I keep running out of air. :-) That used to be a full evenings shoot and 2 fills with my old single shot Ultra.

I always keep at least one of my springers open sights to keep my sighting skills up. This guy is a really good off hand shooter as seen in some of his other videos. I have a Hatsan stryker that was given to me, which is a $100 gun. It's amazingly accurate for what it is (open sights)

Those Hatsan Galatians look really cool. If it weren't for you saying their caliber pellet they fire by the outside diameter of the barrels I'd have thought they were 12 gage shotguns. Lol. Your videos are very informative.

I got lucky on the price, it was a single gun intro promo from midway usa for $299 with free shipping! it's a very nice shooter, but it weighs a ton!.. and I'm closing in on 60 lol...nice review thanks for posting!

I have the black one that was trialed that I imported into NZ from states I fire H&N Baracuda Match 0.22 21.30gr pellets with silencer. The odd one breaks the sound barrier but generally quite quiet, I have shot multiple bunnies at around the 40m mark and have shot multiple Magpies max so far 66m. I have taken it to range and shot it over 100m with slight wind and have got 1.5 inch (40mm) groups. One of the best purchases I have made my only issue is when it is fully charged it shoots slower 915ish fps and then climbs to a 30 shot stable 950fps (This is where I got the groupings).

I live in Turkey now and here there is no power restriction. This means that the .22 rifle is rated at 39ft/lbs (1100fps) and the Carbine at 36ft/lbs (1050fps).This is very close to the speed of sound (1116 fps at sea level) so to ensure the benefit of the integral silencer will need to look at using heavier pellets. Looking at buying one of these and had already been looking at the MTC Viper Connect scope you used but not available here and current UK Export Rules mean a British supplier cannot send one as a private export - bummer.

I do want an air gun eventually. Ammunition availability restrictions and punitive California taxes compounding the already high price of larger ammo are making it harder and harder to regularly practice the required breathing, aiming, and trigger discipline with standard firearms. At some point the ninnies will come after air guns, long bows and slingshots too I suppose.

Ikr I live in CT after those school shootings, they literally told one of the major gun producing companies to leave the state a huge successful company which provided thousands of jobs, there's almost no work for blue collar worker's in CT! These types of people would rather thousands of people loose there job's instead of doing anything that doesn't displace entire communities! They're so fucking dumb it amazes me, once they're done with gun's they'll be coming for or beers and soda's!

I've read, that the Hatsan Galatian (open) is quiet noisy. About 106 db? It is said to use hearing protection. Now I like the open sights as much as you, but I am also concerned with the noise (Shooting in the basement might get very loud?). By how much is the carbine quieter than the normal one? And does the accuracy suffer from the shorter barrel? I'm new and very interested in shooting those. Good thing is, that there are no limitations of the joule we are allowed to use here (Austria) :D. Bad thing about Videos is, that I can't hear how loud the rifles are. Would be nice if you included a decibel-meter in your next videos.

My American wife caused great offense in a air rifle shop outside of Richmond Surrey by bursting out laughing when she saw the little pellets air guns fire. "You mean these huge guns just shoot that?" I explained to the pompous upper class owner that my wife was a wonderful shot, " with real guns" she interjected. They were glad to see us go but I did buy two Webley air pistols for friends.

Nice review Giles, they certainly do look different but I can see them being very popular. Shame the walnut version only produces under 9 ft/lb, I could see that one being the most popular, Are you sure only 60 shots in .25? Seems odd that the shot count reduces the bigger the calibre when it's usually the other way around?
@darkiee6910 жыл бұрын
I've never seen it the other way round, it doesn't make any sense. Bigger caliber, heavier pellet = more air to push it out the barrel.

I have a problem with Raccoon's coming after my chickens at night. I need an air gun with enough power to deter these Raccoon's permanently. I currently have the Hatsan 95. It works, but is hard to break the barrel and re-load. They say Hatsan 95 in 22 caliber flies 800 fps. I think I need that power. I have to use open sights because I am shooting at night usually half asleep at 3 AM. Is there another air rifle you would recommend ?

Just received this gun yesterday and I can't get it to fire. It's my first airgun, so I'm guessing I'm doing something wrong. Possible I don't have the air chamber screwed in tight enough, I stuck a screwdriver through the hole in the end for leverage, but didn't really torque it too hard for fear of damaging it. Is there any sort of "feedback" letting you know it's fully/correctly installed?
@matthewkeith86059 жыл бұрын
I've got one in .22 and fairly happy so far, mine is the black tactical 4, but with thumbhole pistol grip, and came with a screw on moderator. I kind of wish I hadn't got the thumbhole pistol grip as it makes it a bit awkward to move your hand onto the "bolt"/lever and wish I'd gone for a traditional rifle/shotgun grip like the one in the video. But other than than I'm happy, feels quality, clever thoughtful design, very adjustable, loads of kit comes with it. I'm getting 6" ish groups at 50ish yards (with Accupels) and a better shot than I could improve on that as the narrator proves. Very silent with the moderator on, nobody knows I'm shooting, just a click. The sling is a nice thought but mine has come off twice and banged on the ground, don't use it. And the hard case is a little cheap and nasty but does the job, otherwise I'd recommend it if only because of the shedload of extras and features that come with it.
