This was hilarious. I would love to see these guys in a full contact situation. Surely at least one of them is competent enough to actually stress test

Everybody who is trashin this just take a bokken and a friend and try it out for yourself. I have tried it many times and some are hit and some are miss. I say let them train as they are not hurtin me in any way and i could care less if it is true ninjutsu or not as i say it is up to yourself if you believe in it or not and if you want to pay for it then go for it.People in ths world should care less what other do and make their own path in life. Hate and pointing fingers does not solve anything. As long it does not hurt anyone than let it be.

I remember, back in time when I trained Bujinkan, I was walking down the streets with another level of mind, very open, very focussed, very aware of EVERYTHING around me. It's a total different feeling when you are not in training, you take your normal life as a comfort-zone and believe nothing could disturb this bubble. And exactly this is wrong. There could happen everything anytime. And having this radar is what you learn. It's sensing everything.

So are you A. Unsure of your own technique or level or B. Just want or enjoy disproving others.? Either way what does/ would that prove? That your tougher?, than why the need to validate it? Are you not confident? If they are so awful, how does beating a lesser or poorly trained opponent actually make you look any better?

Rites like the Godan are an important way for present and future generations to maintain a dialogue with our ancestors and those who established such culture and traditions. We remember whats distinguished from the ordinary and profane in life by practicing customs which recognize the sacred; the extraordinary. Congratulations to everyone who participated, pass or fail, I hope to experience the Godan myself some day.

I mean, I'm sure u can feel the intention somehow. But then hatsumi Sensei shouldn't make always this little jump before the strike.

Calisthenics Athlete. I second that as from own experience. What is even so obvious here is, how Hatsumi Sensei's body language shows the "sakki" and then thrusting down the bokken. Observers will experience the student reacting on the emotion, not the movement of the sword. Watch this and see what also happens when the mind is "out of tune": kzbin.info/www/bejne/Y6uxgWpjqtN7qNk

Would be REALLY interesting to see this test with the students wearing some kind of earbuds. IMHO opinion no one of them would! Sorry no, the one with a lottery win would...
@kaizaki91488 ай бұрын
Then they would get hit most likely. Part of sensing it coming is listening, part is vibrations, part may even be changes in light and shadow. The point is not to learn some mystical chi powers that people claim to exist, the point is to understand the feeling of focus in anticipation and hone your human senses. At least this is what I always understood it to be in our Dojo! :]

@03:05 the guy would have lost his life. Why did the instructor look to the side for a decision? The “master” should have the ultimate say in the completion of such a test. I call bs

@BreathingAir2 жыл бұрын
@@Andy-ud1gd I was lucky I only did this for 3 years until I woke up and realized how farcical and ineffective it is in real combat situations. Think about it, you're taught to punch once with your lead hand and lead foot and then freeze, then the other person, does a block attack move and you fall down. No real-time sparring is ever practiced, so you can't actually verify that it works.

There’s a great truth in the need for heightened situational awareness in our daily lives. Sadly, now more than ever. But at the root of this demonstration is trickery and false teaching. You can’t magically dodge a sword (consistently anyway) coming at you from this position. As evidenced by most of these filmed examples.
@dennisrounds19968 күн бұрын
I’ll agree with your statement and also say that (in the last at least) much of it had been about $ keeping the coffers full and a hierarchy. With that, it’s not necessarily about “not getting hit” as many of them clearly were or would have been. The idea is to feel “Sakki”- murderous intent. This is about connection and awareness. I’ve had it explained like this to name and perhaps you have experienced this yourself. Have you ever sat at a stoplight and felt someone glaring at you without seeing them?, the. You turn around to find someone scowling or learning at you? Kind of like a “spidey - sense”, or dodged out of the way of something you didn’t see but nearly hit you. No, it’s not something “mystical”, it’s something both innate, our “gut feeling” and that of trusting our senses.

That "old fool" did this several times. Stephen K. Hayes was told to hit him from behind whenever he wants. And Stephen tried and failed. In other videos Hatsumi tells a student to attack whenever he wants and he does it like 3 or 4 times and Hatsumi moves away each time. He can do it.

This is so silly..are these people adults ? NINJAS ? Time to grow up in this day and age. Men acting like Ninjas lol...so unrealistic.They practice this choreographed stuff that wont work in reality because they cant do realistic martial arts...too much work and they might get hurt.Dancing and acting is more safe than real martial training.
