I wouldn’t call this song upbeat. Even without really knowing the lyrics, the instrumental is fast and chaotic which rapidly builds in intensity which reflects the idea of mounting failure resulting in insecurity and anxiety. I know this isn't the original PV, but I wanted to give my analysis on the video. The song is, sadly, about a girl bullied or in some way pushed into suicide. When Miku throws the sheet music and music stands to the floor and destroys the artwork, it's her giving up on her passions in an attempt to be accepted by her peers. She walks through the 'clamor in her head' when she's in the unusual, chaotic room. The stairway was symbolizing Miku frantically trying to reach something to comfort her, but ultimately failing and listening to her suicidal thoughts. This is only my interpretation of the morbid meaning behind each piece and scene. Edit: this is the most likes a comment of mine has ever gotten ♡
@qpqpqpqpqpqpqpqp6 жыл бұрын
Haki the Goddess of Death doesn't really suggest bullying at any point tbh. Seems to be more based around depression and isolation, and her false hope that if she keeps passively going through life, she'll eventually be happy. Each time she does this she gets knocked down again (ie. The stairs collapsing) until she finally loses hope and likely kills herself.

At the end she realises happiness will 'never' be within reach and gives into her depression and kills herself. That's at least how I see it. (In my opinion, rolling means living. It makes a lot of sense when you replace it in the lyrics.)
rolling means like "going on" In one translation i found that the narrator in the song is the voice in her head (which is missing here). If that's right, the ending... her getting close to the player/narrator makes sense, because she embraces it and it's recommendation to kill herself.

It's so interesting how everyone has an unique interpretation of this song,I always saw it as a story about a girl who has big dreams but is anxious and afraid to dream them,while she fears failure she destroys the one thing she loves (for Miku it's music) and falls deeper into depression,realising that she will never "reach the colors on the other side".From then on the girl hears the voice of her depression in her head,that tells her to commit suicide.But the girl still wants to live and so she just "rolls" (hurts herself) for another day, trying to compress her depression. In the End the girl gets tired of fighting against the voices in her head (the depression and her will to live) and they all "blend together", leaving only one choice.Eventually she finds comfort in death,where she can finally "stop breathing". I guess how we see the song really says something about our way of thinking (╥﹏╥)

I'm of the same opinion. I've never looked into the lyrics; people said it was about bullying and depression but I'm surprised there's more context to it now that I've read the lyrics. The rolling girl is a perfectionist. She's depressed because she can't keep up with her ideals no matter how many times she tries. I understand that feeling because I'm incidentally in that sort of situation as well.

I finally listened to this after months of not being able to (emotionally/mentally (Long story)), and I feel so conflicted right now. One part of me is smiling because I missed this so much, yet the other is just aching because of how much this hits me right now. I won’t make this about my pains or anything, because I just wanted to say that this song is even more beautiful than I remembered. I know this has been said a million times before, however, I would still like to share my appreciation for this. Just listening to it alone in the darkness of my room, right after midnight as a light rain washed over the roof.... From the calm pace at the beginning to the intensity of the ending, everything about this song is incredible. The meaning behind it is quite obvious, yet the lyrics manage to keep the story vague enough to be familiar to many. The message is told elegantly through a somewhat upbeat song, to the point where you wouldn’t notice its dark meaning without looking at the translations. I can understand why so many people, including myself, have been affected, healed, or inspired by it. In fact, this doesn’t just apply to this song, but all of the producer’s other works - they just have this powerful and unique feel to them which I can’t quite put into words. Well, thank you to whoever is reading this, and I hope you have a wonderful day! (Written on 05/Apr/2021)

Nancy Khomeini since this song was one of the older songs they made on the psp, they put the hand scale how it was originally and gave miku her old mouth animations. In songs from PDF and the games after, they made new mouth animations and made miku’s hands smaller and more normal
@snow22684 жыл бұрын
I know many people would disagree but I never saw the ending as sad. I always thought the meaning behind it was that sometimes you just become too focused on a goal that doesn't fulfill yourself. And Miku only realised that by failing (the stair scene). In my opinion her mistakes gave her new opportunities. But well that's just my opinion.

If you listening really closely, you can hear a slight whisper repeating the lyrics, I think this might be her depression or maybe the song is actually her depression and she's the whisper blindly following whatever her depression is leading her into....

This really hurts because I obsess over many of my mistakes and it’s really hard to forgive myself even though someone else could have started it... I repeatedly roll my thoughts into the situation and hear their voices doubt me again and again! It’s as if I need one more time. I hide it so no one would feel worried for me or think I’m just craving attention. I hide it because I don’t want to have to be reminded of the situation, but it keeps coming back to me. I put life into these words. One more time please!

The steps of the songs are recreated in the video. It's awesome: First part: She is confident and fighting against the voice in her head (represented by "the camera"/the player) Second part: She is scared and runs away from the camera. Into the worse parts of her (probably) illness / that really blew my mind when i realized that she literally RUNS AWAY Third part: The finale - She gives in and embraces the voice in her head. She literally reached out to the camera.

The fact this song is about someone struggling through their daily life, pretending to be okay, dealing with the anger and frustration and sadness, longing for someone to see through their facade, fighting their inner demons, trying to console themselves with the promise of "let's try one more day maybe something will change" -- but in the end, they give up after fighting so hard for so long (those last lines are haunting: "you must be exhausted too, right? Stop breathing, now.") is honestly heartbreaking.
