Hatsune Miku is the best rythm game period. Don't get me wrong, Rythm Heaven, Rythm Thief and similar games are all amazing But Miku is a game series that caught me by surprise with how good it is. It's just so incredibly satisfying to pull off a complete Song without any mistakes, and with Future Tones collection of 200+ Songs, this feels like something that will keep me hooked for a long, long time

it's kinda like the Dark Souls of Rhythm games I feel. It eases you in at first.....then it'll slam you with how difficult it can get. Good example is Holy Lance Explosion Boy in Project X. Easy, Normal and even Hard mode aren't bad....but Expert? Yeah ur controller will be through ur TV.

holy lance isnt even that tough, X isn't tough at all, future tone and the ORIGINAL games 1st 2nd extend etc. those were the hardest games of the diva series.a

if they refine a story mode, i'd like that again. It was kinda cute, and seeing everyone's reactions depending on their moduels was adorable. the medly's were fun, (Quirky my fave because I am a huge Len fan) and more songs for everyone in general would be nice. Too much Miku, but using everyone for the songs made for some fun moments. One for me....and it ALWAYS happens. I use Kaito on Brain Revolution Girl, and he'd always get a swimwear costume, making me yell at him lol

This game is like crack for your eyes and ears. So addictive and so many songs! To anyone who might feel scared off by the difficulty, don't worry. I was a complete beginner at rhythm games but this game has practice mode, a steady progression from easy to extreme, and the button prompts match the rhythm of the songs so you're fingers will automatically follow the beat. With some patience and practice you you will get the hang of it and feel really rewarded as you master the songs.

Here's a tip from someone who's been playing this damn game since June 2016: Don't use the shoulder buttons for the slide notes. Use the control sticks instead.

Game has loads of great SEGA costumes, Space Channel 5, Valkyria Chronicles, Virtua Fighter, Sonic and many more. It also has some locations/songs based on SEGA games like Outrun and Afterburner.

My first Hatsune Miku game was Mirai DX and loved it. I got a PS4 a few months ago and was excited for more Miku games but ultimately passed on Diva X when I learned about how tiny the song list was especially for the price. But this. This is something I can get behind. Thanks for the review!

This is probably the best project diva game I've ever owned. I love how the songs on extreme are usually way harder than they were in the F series too. I get the games for the intense rhythm gameplay and I'm glad this one had no story or dating sim stuff. The occasional 2D animated songs are refreshing too

It does look great. And it has a lot more songs than MegaMix does at the moment. And more modules. I also like that you can take snapshots while you're watching the music videos and they can be used as load time screenshots. One thing I noticed in MegaMix though is that there's some input lag when you're playing it docked. On handheld mode it's actually very responsive I guess it depends on the kind of TV you're using. But Future Tone feels more responsive.

My first miku game for the ps was X and I was expecting something like this, but then there was songs I've never heard of, I didn't care about the relationship building, and senbonzakura wasn't in it. Theres more songs and new DLC costumes out now for Future Tone 2019. If you use the TV Mode and make everything costume all random, its eternity of Anime on your TV. I will always love this game.

I loved Project DIVA X. Their attempt at a story was great, and it helped organize the songs really well, I felt. That said, Future Tone is freaking gorgeous. The beautiful visuals make my favorites (Summer Idol, Melancholic, and Weekender Girl) even better than before. Makes me SO happy.

I have never failed so much on a miku game without an edit mode and I love this game. If I can enjoy failing and building up my skill on an extreme or ex extreme song than that's a good game for me

My first miku game was diva X. I realy loved it. The only trouble i have with this one is the multiple diffrent button at the same time. Reason being used to the double same direction. Slides were easy tough.

For me, the hardest thing to pull off is the hold buttons. I cab hold them, but when they ask me to hold square, then hit a few notes in rapid succession and then hold triangle only to have another string of noted follow up with Circle and X... It gets insane. I do have an arcade stick and that makes it a bit easier. Also, Fuck the diva rooms. They won't be missed unless they do something good with it.

you can hold notes by pressing and holding R2 and L2 right after you sucesfully presed the hold note, allowing you to freely move out your thumb from that note. there is a tutorial for it.

The graphics and character designs have a "real doll" appearance because Project DIVA Arcade and Project DIVA Arcade Future Tone use their designs from the Dream Theater versions of the original PSP games. The Japan-only PS4 Project DIVA Future Tone DX could've also been mentioned, too.

Loved the review and if I had to choose, this is the obvious best choice. I will still get X tho, but perhaps at a lower price, just not liking the fact that it barely has 30 songs unless you shell out extra cash for dlc. This however has 220. I just downloaded the free version of the game to see what i was getting into, first off the two songs that they give for free are two of my favs from previous games so that was a plus. When i went to try both of them for the first time in ages i barely came out of both on hard with a 60% when in previous project diva games on psp i got perfect on both at the highest difficulties of their respective games. While i was frustrated, i was also incredibly happy, previous games i found fairly easy save select few songs (disappearance of hatsune miku, sadistic music factory, and intense singing of hatsune miku to name the main 3) but with this one even songs i that i had previously mastered i could challenge again on a far greater difficulty.

Rajaang well its mostly because they are arcade controls, so they are much harder than any past diva games. But hey whatever, Its more of what I love in the hatsune miku project diva series.
