The genre is one aspect of the song, and that may be unusual for VBS, but the lyrics and what the song is about fit them well. This one fits An and Kohane; though it fits Kohane more. One of the core theme of VBS songs is about breakthroughs and supporting one another and reach the top like with Forward, Rettou Jottou Mirai. (That's not to say other units don't have this theme in their song list, but I think it's not as much.)
