I'm a new subscriber, and thoroughly enjoy your videos! I'm from pgh, its really nice to follow someone else from PA. I'm not a boater...but a fishing road warrior...been to many of the places yinz been to. I really liked New Smyrna and fished a few hundred yards from that drawbridge...I also liked St. Augustine...very old city with great architecture...can't wait to head back down there to explore more and the Ice Plant bar in Ponce de Leon? Another great little town. I've been binge watching your channel for several hours and ready to watch for several more......Tight lines 😎 < common saying from fishermen for good by and good luck.

Thanks for watching! St. Augustine is one of our favorite stops as well - especially the Ice Plant.

good videos. wish you guys would show us when you dock; no judgements if it doesn't go perfectly.

You guys need to invest in a windscreen for your mic
@edwardpoltonowicz74857 жыл бұрын
We actually has a wind screen on. The problem was the audio was set to auto, so it kept changing the volume when the wind blew. And the 25-30 knot winds did not help.

I had to write and congratulate you both for your comments about San Agustin, County of San Juan and yes it´s the oldest City in USA and I proudly say it was founded by us, The Spaniards. I´m one of your followers in Spain where your vids are following with great interest. Thanks to you Capt. Ed and lovely wife Lyn

We are glad you like the videos! We love St Augustine. I also love Spain. I spent a summer there when I was younger. Mostly in Salamanca and Barcelona. I'll get back there some day.

Should get some boat hooks to use in locks to keep you off the walls instead of using your feet,good way to break a leg or get pinched...also put out bumpers...

Hello Ed and Lin - my wife Stephanie and I found your videos and watched them all, as we also follow (and learn) from others. We became full time live aboards 6 months ago. We sold our house of 29 years in Chester Springs PA and we moved aboard our 49' Carver. Our hailing port is Chesapeake City but we're wrapping up our first summer in Rhode Island near one of our daughters and grandkids. We'll be leaving here Oct 1 and heading to Florida, with a 2 week stop in Chesapeake City. We were looking at going to Cocoa Village but I thought is looked small and when I saw your video we're now thinking we'd like to find a slip in St. Augustine for the winter. I hope our paths (wakes) cross sometime. BTW - we started a blog for our big adventure, www.OurFLoatingHome.com.

One of these days we may go full time live-aboard as well. We have been to Chesapeake city many times. It is one of our favorite marinas. We will probably stop there this coming week, on our way to Annapolis. Cocoa Village was nice but St Augustine is definitely the place we would chose for a long stay. I forget how the prices compare, but there is a lot more to do in St. Augustine.

Nice blog too! We started one ourselves, www.tryingnottosink.com but I had a hard time keeping up with it, so we switched to videos. Although, they probably take even longer. 😁

Do you refuel at every marina? Guess your speed around 7/8 ks so do you burn about 3 gallons per hour or so. We don't know the horse power of your engines or any details on that.
@tryingnottosink91076 жыл бұрын
Usually every 4th marina. We hold about 800 gallons and get .75 mpg at 10 knots and typically burn about 13-15 gallons an hour depending on wether we are using the generator.

Nice show, but you shouldn't try to tape in a wind without the wind noise suppressor.

Do you need a captains license for that size of a boat ?
@tryingnottosink91075 жыл бұрын
No. Not unless I want to charge people money for riding on the boat. Then I would need a license.
@lylel57076 жыл бұрын
You need to tell us the price of fuel. Its 285 a gal and I burn 2 gals an hour at 8 knotts, thats the information we need.
@danielcurtin76166 жыл бұрын
Lyle L fuel prices fluctuate so that info will be useless by the time most of us see it. Google Active Captain, it has current fuel prices by state and marina.

Wind noise = lost viewership. I will not waste time listening to wind on the condenser mics.
