Nice coaches. I love you idea of using a pin to apply the oil rather then trying to apply it straight from the tube.

Nice coaches no major issues all said and done. Thought about buying the blue and grey coach more to my era than the early ones. One the subject of wagons this might interest you. Recently I brought a Replica Railways Wagon the seven plank C.A. Ayres no .13204 never used. Here's the twist under the wagon it says Bachmann Hong Kong the box and packing looks more like Mainline used in their last year of production but is green with Replica Railways on it. I have heard it's a complex story perhaps it would make an interesting video for your channel. Hope you are getting better. Pete.

I've got a rake of 11 GNR teak versions. My video No. 070 is set for release at 7pm this evening (22nd March). I found the Hattons couplings didn't couple to each other very well at all even though their height off the track is correct. You can see on your video the couplings aren't centered. I've now fitted Hunt Elite magnetic close couplings which work well and look much better. Magnetic attraction ensures they couple in perfect alignment.

Nice looking carriages Mike, I wasn't at all interested in these until I saw your video, It appears to me that these niggles are a fact of quality control, or more so lack of. I may well buy some one day,when the price is right for myself.Sometimes I think all that detail is unnecessary especially when it is out of view,but I do understand the attention to detail for serious model enthusiasts .As long as it looks right & runs around without derailing or motors packing up,I am more than satisfied.

26 seconds in, the first coach that won't roll downhill - looks to have a hump in the roof at the r/h end by the gas lamp vent. A couple of the coupler hooks look bent, as well - trivial nit-picks.

Hi, just checked that and see what you mean, it's an optriceral illusion caused by the position of the gas pipe. Couplings are very flexible so that's why they look bent.

I have two pairs of the Hornby version of the coaches: 4-wheeled GWR coaches and 6-wheeled LNER Teak coaches with working lights. I can't really say anything to compare the different types, as I never bought the Genesis versions. Glad you got yourself sorted and happy modelling.😂

At least you got your coaches Hattons let me down after over a year on pre-order of several LMS coaches they told me that they would be unable to fulfill my order. I only hope that I get the Midland ones.

Thanks for the tips Mike will look out for them when mine finally arrive despite the fact I paid DHL GBP22 to get them here in a few days but this is 2022 when nothing goes to plan, they were sent via LA believe it or not and have only just arrived in Brisbane sent on 22nd October, it'll be another few days to get them up to the Sunshine Coast knowing Australia Post. Hi Mike - The Lite Oil HL662 dispenser, is the part that holds the oil squeezable as it looks like when it is empty it would make a really good PVA dispenser. Regards Chris

Hi Mike. That is a simple little fix for the brake rigging, makes me wonder if that is how they should have been assembled in the first place as it strikes me as being a bit odd to have the rods dangling down not touching anything. I did spot the gas pipe one but as you say not really a snag as long as you remember to put it back in place after refitting the roof. At the end of the day they are great coaches, makes me wish I'd ordered more but got to watch the money, they are all selling out now wonder if Hattons will consider further runs. Hi Rob, thanks for looking in I think the brake rods are supposed to be bent against the brake rigging but for some reason have not been.

You need to mount your camera / phone on a tripod or similar when doing bench based filming. I've done hand held close up work myself and regretted it. Zooming in can be done in the post processing I've found. Your lighting of the black underside was good. Very tricky to get that right I've found

Yes anything black is a pain lol goes for black locos as well

I got the underside of my carriages to be visible by post processing the Contrast to -1 value, basically turning it off. However, to achieve the effects and close ups required the original few videos to be chopped up into about 30 chunks. Luckily, doing that doesn't affect the sound

@@andrewdking agree fully. My productions take around a month of planning, 2 days filming and 2 or 3 days editing. For the medium ones at least. The big ones like, wagons, tank wagons and milk took weeks and weeks lol
