I love how she has a really good moral compass and cares for the students even though she pretends not to. The genuine concern when the girls say that Miss DeBrún touched them, the silent pride when the girls ignore the ban and publish the magazine, how she sends Jenny home when the POTUS goes to Derry, they all show how she cares about the students and them developing their own ideas, ideals, and opinions.

For all her ornery attitude, when there was a hint of a chance that her students had been abused by a teacher in Season 2, you could see that Sister Michael was about to tear the whole world apart until she realized the error.

I had a teacher like Sister Micheal. She wasnt a nun, but she didnt care yet cared when it mattered. One of the things she used to say was, "Raise your paws ONLY IF you know the answer/if you have a GENUINE question" while directly looking at the class clowns in our class.
